A business man arrested for breaching liquor ban in Choiseul Province

A business man has been arrested for breaching the nation-wide liquor ban for the joint elections 2024 in Choiseul province today (19 April 2024).

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) on police operation in Taro for the joint elections have arrested the businessman and confiscated seventy-four cartons of beer after police received information from the community.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Elliot Ngili says, “The businessman has breached the liquor ban order which has been enforced by the RSIPF, and will be charged for his action.”

PPC Ngilli says, “My team on the ground will continue on with the investigation to identify liquor license holders who are breaching the liquor ban order. Appreciate if we could have the support of our community members in identifying who are those license holders.”

Taro Police wish to urge each and every one to work together with the police to promote peace and harmony during the period of counting and announcing of winning candidates of the three constituency in Choiseul. .
