The crocodile attack had happened when five people from Opele village went out to dive beche-de-mer at reefs nearby their village when the reptile grabbed the man and took him for at least two hours before other four boys fought the reptile.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force at the Henderson and Tetere Police Station are investigating an alleged unlawful wounding incident involving two parties in North East Guadalcanal on 19 September 2021.
An initial report on the incident said that an argument broke out during a card game for beer at Koivo village in the North East Guadalcanal.
It was alleged that one of the men wounded a 35-year-old male on the mouth using a bush knife and sustained injuries. The victim was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital for medical treatment.

Initial report said that the suspects were under influence of liquor when they committed the offences. It is alleged that the suspects confronted landowners at their village and threw stones, damaged dwelling houses and intimidated them.

Police Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau says, “It is alleged that the suspect was holding a can of beer on his right hand and drunk it at the car park at the Central Police Station on the 19 September 2021 at about 12 mid-night.”
Commissioner Mangau says, “Police approached the suspect and told him that he is consuming beer in a public place. The suspect was arrested and dealt with.”
