Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki police station have arrested four suspects in their 20s for stealing building materials from the newly built incinerator at Kilufii hospital on 28 October 2024.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Chief Superintendent Tex Tafoa said the total cost of the materials stolen is about SBD $10,000.00 dollars.

Four suspects have been identified by Auki police after they allegedly threatened to kill a disabled person with dangerous weapons.

Luckily some members of the community rushed to assist the disabled elder and managed to save him from those young men.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Chief Superintendent Tex Tafoa said Auki Police had responded to the report of threatening and upon police arrival the suspects escaped.

OfOfficers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki police station have arrested a 27-year-old male suspect for burning down their family church building at Kakara village in West Kwara’ae, Malaita province on 26 October 2024.

The suspect was believed to be drunk when he set the church on fire. The suspect was unhappy that his mother didn’t gave him money before going to the church.

The suspect allegedly used petrol and a match to burn the church.

Officers from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Kirakira police station in Makira-Ulawa Province, along with the community governance team from the Makira-Ulawa provincial government visited four communities in Ward 5 and a community in Ward 9 of Central Bauro recently.

This visit is part of the integration of the police Crime Prevention Strategy (CPS) and the Community Governance Ordinance (CGO) of 2006 from the Makira-Ulawa Provincial Government.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is urging young girls to notify their family members before going out.

RSIPF made this appeal after a young girl lied to her family that some unknown people kidnapped her between Kobito and Kwaio valley before the weekend.

The family of the young girl was so frustrated that they go to the police station and seek assistance to locate the girl.

RSIPF Commissioner Mangau said it was alleged that the young girl was actually spending time drinking beer with friends.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has arrested seven individuals who allegedly use threats.

RSIPF Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau, confirmed these arrests came about after police responded to reports received from complainants being threatened by individuals with dangerous weapons.
Commissioner Mangau said out of the seven arrested are two females.

He said police has yet to establish whether these individuals’ resort to using threats is connected to attempted abduction incidences that causes public fear recently.

Twenty-one Detectives of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force served under the Honiara City, Rove Headquarter and Guadalcanal have completed five weeks detective qualifying course today (25 October 2024).

RSIPF Assistant Commissioner (AC) Cooperate Support Stanley Riolo says, “The investigations qualifying modules were designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your investigation roles to drive RSIPF organization towards greater success.”

Police in Buala, Isabel Province, successfully arrested three suspects during a recent patrol to Kia and Katova wards, following reports received.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Inspector Harry Vanosi stated, “Two suspects arrested and charged for common nuisance Contrary to Section 172 of the Penal Code and one suspect has been arrested and charged for Restriction on making liquor Contrary to Section 50 (2) of the liquor Act.

The suspects were released on bail and will appear in Buala Magistrate’s Court circuit on 25 November 2024.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and the Office of Auditor General (OAG) have commenced preliminary discussions on the OAG’s Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) audit report.

RSIPF Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau, confirmed that RSIPF is waiting for the OAG to formally refer the report to RSIPF to commence investigation.

Commissioner Mangau said any issue that comes out from the ESP report will follow their normal process of dealing with cases under investigation.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers at Kirakira police station in Makira-Ulawa Province Community Policing Team had conducted crime prevention strategy initiative and Law & order awareness talk to people of Muu village Central Bauro in Makira-Ulawa Province on the 20th October 2024.

The awareness talk topics include Crime Prevention strategy initiative, Kwaso, Marijuana, Family Protection Act, good Parenting.

The team is also assisting the community in finalising their by-laws.
