Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Community Engagement Team consisting of police officers and Director of the Solomon Islands Community Development Program (SICPD) have conducted Crime Prevention and Community Setup awareness programs at White River, West Honiara on 26 September 2021.

As part of the community engagement of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) with its stakeholders, Police officers at the Tigoa Police Station will provide security during a Church program in West Rennel from 12 to 19 October 2021.

Dorcas from each Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Churches around Renbel Province have come together for the program at Teabamagu village.

It is indeed a milestone for Ngaridarao community in West Makira to launch its by-law after months of hard work by the community leaders and Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF), Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Ward 6 Honorable Francis Drake Tahokeni told his people during the launching of the by-law on 30 September 2021.

More than a thousand people in nearby villages took part and witnessed the program launching.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki have arrested a 27-year-old male suspect for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in a Pajero car along the Ambu main road close to Auki town on 2 October 2021.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi Police Station have arrested a 40-year-old male suspect for causing grievous harm to a male person in his 20s at Hakama settlement via Tabana Village in Central Province on 27 September 2021.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “It is alleged that the suspect went into a dwelling house where the victim was sleeping and cut the victim on his right side chest with a big bush knife.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force at Tulagi Police Station in Central Province have arrested three male suspects aged between 18 and 50 year-old for assault causing bodily harm to a 25-year-old male in Big Ngella on 26 September 2021.

Initial report said that two of the suspects went to the victim's house and pulled him to their house. The third suspect who was the father of the two other suspects advised them to assault the victim.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has removed a US 650lb bomb under a residence at Titinge village in West Honiara on 6 October 2021.

Officer in-charge of the EOD team, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The EOD team have conducted a two day operation to safely unearth and remove the US 650lb depth bomb to Hells Point.”

OIC Tunuki says, “The bomb was initially discovered by the owner of the residence whilst digging a hole to replace old floor posts.”

Two male defendants aged 20 and 23-year-old have pleaded guilty for common nuisance before a sitting Magistrate in the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 3 October 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander Honiara City Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “The two defendants were found guilty for the offence and sentenced to fine $400 each. If the defendants have not paid for their fines, they will serve 20 days Imprisonment.”

Two male defendants aged 20 and 23-year-old have pleaded guilty for consumption of liquor in public places before a sitting Magistrate in the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 1 to 2 October 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander Honiara City Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “The two defendants were found guilty for the offence and sentenced. The first defendant who has a previous court conviction will pay a fine of $600.00 while the second defendant is sentenced to pay a fine of $300.00.”

Three defendants were sentenced for imprisonment during a Court circuit conducted at Manuopo Police Post in Temotu Province from 6 to 17 September 2021.

During the hearing, 18 cases were presented before the Magistrate. The cases include domestic violence, intimidations, assault causing actual bodily harm, malicious damage and simple larceny.

Out of the 18 cases, three defendants were convicted and sentenced for imprisonment at the Lata Correctional Centre.
