Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Munda Police Station in Western Province have arrested and charged a 39-year-old man on 30 April for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl at Lokuloku settlement in Munda on 29 April 2020.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The victim and her sister were the last ones to go into their room after a family dinner.”

Sexual Assault Office of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has boosted with a new playroom for children today (19 May 2021) at Rove police headquarters.

Officer In-Charge (OIC) Sexual Assault Team, Inspector Rose Nala says, “Police officers usually investigates serious sexual offences including those offences done against our most vulnerable young children.”

OIC Nala says, “The new play room will provide a safe and comforting environment for child victims, and children of adult victims who attend the office.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara today (18 May 2021) farewelled their colleague officer the late Police Constable (PC) Elizabeth Kala Auna during a funeral service at the Saint Barnabas Cathedral after she passed away on 14 May 2020.

Speaking at the funeral service RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “I am humbled to stand here on behalf of all ranks and files of the RSIPF throughout Solomon Islands.”

The National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have formally charged the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet for breaches of the Electoral Act 2018 and the political party integrity act on 13 May 2021.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has removed 101unexploded ordnance (UXOs) at Gilbert Camp in Honiara in a two days operation from yesterday (16 May 2021) and today (17 May 2021).

Officer-in-charge (OIC) EOD Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “EOD operators have unearthed 101 UXOs after we received the report from the community. The UXOs safely stored at Hells Points for render safe.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Police Force (RSIPF) in Gizo have arrested a 41-year-old male person from Shortland Islands in relation to the death of a 40- year-old male person from Isabel Province at Gizo on 13 May 2021.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The suspect was arrested by Gizo police detectives at the district area in Gizo town at about 2pm yesterday (13 May 2021).”

Police at Gizo in Western Province are investigating death of a male person from Isabel Province at Gizo on 8 May 2021.

Police Commissioner Mr Mostyn Mangau says, “According to the initial report received, it was stated that on 8 May 2021 between 3 to 4 pm in the afternoon the suspect allegedly assaulted the deceased and sustained bleeding on his mouth.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “During the time of the incident the deceased was drunk and decide not to report the matter to the police or even go to Gizo hospital after the suspect assaulted him.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata Police Station in Temotu Province are investigating an alleged grievous harm incident occurred on Taumako village in Duff island on 11 May 2021.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “It is alleged that a group of four male person armed with bush knives and chain-saw blade attacked a victim resulted in the victim sustain multiple serious injuries to his both arms and was rushed to Duff clinic for medical treatment. The incident was related to a land issue between the victim and the suspects.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tigoa in the Renbel Province are investigating the discovery of the body of a 19-year-old male who believed to have hanged himself in his room at his uncle’s residence on 5 May 2020.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Commissioner Mr Mostyn Mangau says, “The deceased lived with his uncle and his uncle told him that he will be leaving to next village to complete his canoe work and will return the next day (6 may 2021).”
