Introducing by-law will make the Stream valley community a safer and enjoyable place to live, a strong message uttered by Alvin Kiupua Maui, Vice Chairman, Stream valley community police during a community launching of their by-law yesterday (28 July 2021).

Vice Chairman Maui in his speech at the launching ceremony said we must acknowledge the community by-law that will enable us to learn the important concept of living with law. Community by will relieve us by protecting our people from unlawful practices and illegal activities.

The Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) wish to respond to the media article ‘Hon. Mathew Wale, Opposition leader warns Commissioner of Police to thread carefully over the Suidani saga’ that was published on 24 July 2021.

We must be very clear that the mandated role of Commissioner of police is very clear in the Constitution and the Police Act 2013. There is demarcation of powers between legislators, judiciary and the Executive Authorities.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and the Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) have thanked a local contractor for a successful completion of the new Avu Avu Police Station in Guadalcanal Province.

Officers from the Police Infrastructure Department (PID), Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) and SIPDP Infrastructure and logistics Advisor attended the program to thank the contractor at Avu Avu on 24 July 2021.

Commander of the Solomon Island Police Development Program (SIPDP) Paul Osborne today (26 July 2021) handed over equipment worth $5 million to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara

Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Services Hon Anthony Veke, Member of Parliament and RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau received the equipment during a brief ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters this morning.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi in Central Province have arrested four suspects for willful and unlawful damage to properties at Vunuha village in small Ngella on 17 July 2021.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai says, “Initial report stated that the incident has occurred in relation to a land issue, in which two parties claimed ownership of it.”

The City Response Team (CRU) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station was rocked by some angry youths when they assisted Guadalcanal Police to execute an eviction order from the High Court of Solomon Islands at Lunga in East Honiara.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Superintendent John Matamaru says, “Initial report stated that some angry youths who related to the losing party threw stones at the police officers on the ground while executing the eviction order from the High Court on 21 July 2021.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Kirakira in Makira-Ulawa Province have arrested a 50-year-male suspect on 16 July 2021 for raping a 27-year old female on two separate occasion in 2019 and 2021.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira-Ulawa Province, Superintendent Peter Sitai says it is alleged that the male person in his 50s had sexual intercourse with a 27-year-old without her consent in two separate occasions.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Atoifi and Atori Police Station have arrested three suspects on 20 July 2021 for a wounding incident at Jordan village in East Kwaio, Malaita Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says the wounding incident had occurred at Jordan village via Gwaunabusu in the Sinaragu area in East Kwaio in the early hours on 20 July 2021.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station have arrested and charged a 23-year-old male suspect for common assault and damage of properties recently at Pt Cruz area.

It will be alleged in court that around 8am on the 26 June 2021, the defendant appeared drunk, entered a shop and began arguing with the victim. It was during that argument; the defendant punched the victim twice using his both hands close fist and landed on the victim's right side eye.
