Police investigators at the Naha Police Station in East Honiara are investigating the suspicious death of a Chinese national inside the compound of the Top Timber Company at Ranadi, yesterday 7 April 2021.

The deceased from Guandong Province in China, was employed by the Top Timber Company as the Grading and Consultation Supervisor. He resided at the Top Timber compound where the incident occurred.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province have arrested a 12-year-old male person for the alleged rape of a 4-year-old girl in Guadalcanal Province on 21 March 2021.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “Both the suspect and the victim are cousins and both are from Maokao Village in the Marumbo area of West Guadalcanal. The incident occurred in the suspect’s dwelling house at Maokao Village.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Central Police Station in Honiara City have arrested and charged three suspects with murder following the death of teacher after an incident in the Bahai area of Central Honiara at 12-midnight last Friday 26 March 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Superintendent John Matamaru says, “The third suspect was arrested on Wednesday 31 March 2021 in Honiara and was placed in the cell at the Central Police Station watch house. Two other suspects were arrested earlier.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Central Police Station in Honiara City are investigating the death of a teacher that occurred in the Bahai area of Central Honiara at 12-midnight last Friday 26 March 2021.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “At around 9am last Thursday (25 March 2021) the deceased left his family residence at Matanikao Village, near Marble Street, Tuvaruhu and drove into town.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara and the provincial centres will conduct Easter weekend operations from Good Friday 2 March 2021 until Easter Monday 5 March 2021.

The Operation will include officers from Honiara City and Guadalcanal Province as well as officers of the Traffic Department and National Crime Prevention Department. Provincial centres will also be implementing their Easter Festive Operations

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team will be conducting a live demolition of bombs at the Hells Point, in Alligator Creek, east of Honiara from 7 to 8 April 2021

Supervising Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Staff Sergeant Peter Ririvere says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal area will be active from 8am to 12 mid-day from on both days.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) reminds people in the western border with Papua New Guinea that the threat of the COVID-19 entering our country through Bougainville is real and everything must be done to prevent it.

Deputy Commissioner, Operations, Juanita Matanga emphasised the threat when she conducted awareness talks with members of the public at the Taro Market and Vurango Village on 26 Match 2021 and at Moli Village on 28 March 2021.
