The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) farewell two Solomon Islands Police Support Program (SIPSP) advisors in a ceremony held at Rove police headquarters yesterday (1 July 2021).

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau acknowledged and greatly appreciated the service rendered by SIPSP advisors during their time assisting RSIPF during the past years.

“On behalf of all ranks and files of the RSIPF, I wish to acknowledge your contribution that you have made in different areas you served within the RSIPF organization during your time,” says Commissioner Mangau.

Five people were seriously injured themselves after they clashed each other relating to a portion of land for Kava farming at Malobo village in west Kwara’ae on 30 June 2021.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo said the tragic incident happened after a father and his son clearing a portion of area for garden Kava, but later another father with his two sons go in and plant Kava inside that garden.

PPC Riolo said the argument has escalated, and the trio attacked the father who first clearing the Kava garden.

The Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS), Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP)-Solomon Island Police Development Program (SIPDP) came together to acknowledge their friendship and cooperation as the SIPDP program ends on 30 June 2021.

The Executive teams from the MPNSCS, RSIPF and SIPDP gathered at an informal lunch at the Coral Sea Resort to share stories and remember former colleagues who also worked in support of the program over the last four years.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro in Choiseul Province are investigating a suspicious death of a 71-year-old-man found lying on the beach along with his fibre dugout canoe at Pavora village, North West Choiseul.

Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau says, “According to the initial report, the deceased left his family to attend a funeral service at Nukiki village in his dugout canoe in the morning on 23 June 2021.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station have arrested a male person on 18 June 2021 in relation to a sea collision at Sali bay in East Central Guadalcanal.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says “The Sea Collison have occurred on the 16 June 2021 when the deceased go out on his dugout canoe for fishing outside of Sali bay.”
