The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are working together with the Western Provincial Liquor License Board to ban liquor in Shortland Islands.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, the Liquor ban came about when the Lofung ground breaking committee make a request to ban or selling of liquor in Shortland Islands recently.

PPC Lenialu says the ban of selling liquor will impose on the following dates: Monday 21st, Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd, and Thursday 24th June 2021.

David Soakai has received his letter of promotion from the Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Mr Mostyn Mangau to the rank of Superintendent today 18 June 2021 at Rove police headquarters.

Mr Soakai previously holds the rank of inspector position now promoted to Superintendent. Previously, he is the Officer In-Charge (OIC) Close Personal Protection (CPP) an arm unit under National Response Department.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Auki police station in Malaita Province are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Kwaibala River that has claimed a live on 14 June 2021.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “The vehicle was return from Kwaibala to Auki town when suddenly the vehicle drive out of the road in to the Kwaibala River.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo police station in Western province are causing an inquiry in to the death of two people after eating poisonous fish at Niutakwa village in Kolobangara Island on 12 June 2021.

Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau says, “There were fourteen people taken to Ringi clinic for medical attention after eating the poison fish (Balloon fish). An adult female in her 30s and an 8-year-old child lose their lives upon arrival at Ringi clinic.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo police station in Western Province are investigating a suspicious death of an old male person at Vese Island in Vela la vela on 12 June 2021.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “Grandson of the deceased and another female were the first people to discover the death body. They call the deceased during their visit but no response.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “They went inside the deceased house and checked him but the deceased was dead.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Naha Police Station Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are investigating the death of a 23-year-old male person in east Honiara on 14 June 202.

An initial report say that early in the morning about 3am on Saturday 12 June 2021, an argument over a mobile phone broke out between the deceased and the suspect at Kukum area.

The deceased was among five others who stole a mobile phone from the suspect and his cousin brother. It was during that time a fight broke out between them.

Defending Solrais Women’s Premier League Champions (SWPL), the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Royals are in 3rd place after the conclusion of Round 1. The Royals are 3 points off the top when Round 2 resumes on 19 June 2021.

The conclusion of the SWPL Round 1 also sees the Royals farewell New Zealand Police Solomon Islands Police Support Program (SIPSP) Advisor and Coach Mark Crawford and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) advisor and player Nourah Ajaj.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Kariki Police Post at the border between Solomon Islands-Papua New Guinea (SI-PNG) marks the Queen of the Common Wealth countries 95th Birthday on 11 June 2021.

Team Leader (TL), Kariki Post, Constable Alf Tabo says, “Team at Kariki Police Post would like to take this opportunity to say Happy Birthday to Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth II, who is the Head of State of Solomon Islands and Queen of the Common Wealth countries.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Tulagi Police Station in Central Province have participated and witnessed the launching of the community by-laws of Toga and New-Vunuha communities in the big Ngella, Central Province on 4 June 2021.

Assistance Police (AC) Commissioner National Operation Evelyn Thugea says, “More than hundred villagers including the Provincial Community Officers (PCO), Chiefs, Crime Prevention Committees (CPCs) and community elders attended the launching and witness the signing of the by-laws.”

A 27-year-old husband has fined $600.00 after he has appeared in Kirakira Magistrates’ Court on 4 June 2021 for assaulting his wife.

Assistant Police Commissioner (AC) National Operation Evelyn Thugea says, “The defendant was guilty for the offence and fine $600.00. If the defendant not paid for the fine, he will serve 40 days imprisonment.”
