Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, (RSIPF) National Traffic Department recorded five traffic incidences during the period 13 to 19 November 2020 in Honiara the same as recorded during the previous week.

Complainants reported one of the cases while officers of the National Traffic Department reported 4 cases.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo Police Station in the Western Province have arrested seven suspects for alleged malicious damage and assault at the Kuava logging camp on Vella La Vella Island on 11 November 2020.

It is alleged that the suspects entered the camp site and allegedly damaged properties owned by the logging company operating the logging camp and allegedly assaulted some company employees at the camp site.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) National Response Department (NRD) and Fire & Rescue has graduated 86 officers as specialist operators today (13 November 2020) at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.
The specialist operators who graduated included:
• 20 Close Personal Protection (CPP) officers - 17 male and three female;
• 35 Police Response Team (PRT) officers - 33 male and two female;
• 17 Fire and Rescue officers - 12 male and five female officers; and

The Indonesian registered vessel, the Metro Teratari that had entered Solomon Islands waters through the country’s Western Province last week without the permission of the rightful authorities has now left the country.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “This has been confirmed by the Director of the Solomon Islands Maritime Authority (SIMA). Government authorities advised the vessel’s local agent to inform the ship’s captain to return to its port of origin.”
