Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki, Malaita Province are closely monitoring the situation in the township after a peaceful protest march took place today. (7 September 2020)
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says, “A protest was carried out by the employees of the Malaita Provincial Government, members of the public and members of the Malaita for Democracy (M4D).”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) has established 33 crime prevention committees (CPC) within communities in the three constituencies of Honiara City.

The 33 crime prevention committees were established to prevent crime happening in the communities. The CPC in each community will work together with the police and report any crime happening in their community.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) clarify that a yacht sighted at Vainkoro Island, Temotu Province was cleared by Customs and Immigration at Noro recently.

Temotu Police Operation Manager, Inspector Walter Leleina says, “The yacht last port of call in Western Province, Honiara, Santa Anna and then to Vanikoro Islands since last month.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and other government agencies are monitoring a yacht that has been directed to sail to Kia in Isabel Province after it reported serious damage to its sailing gear, engine and rudder and had requested assistance to be towed to a port for repair. RSIPF received the report today 3 August 2020.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Noro Police Station in Western Province have arrested and charged a 27-year-old male person on 31 August 2020 for alleged sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl on several occasions in Noro between May and June 2020.

Police at Noro police arrested the 27-year-old male person in the township on 31 August 2020 for alleged sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl on four different occasions.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) women’s soccer team today received a set of new uniforms from the Commander of the Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP).

The RSIPF women’s soccer team is one of eight women’s soccer teams playing in the National Women’s league. The RSIPF team is made up of 25 members, including RSIPF Officers, SIPDP members and other young women from the local communities.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Munda Police Station in Western Province are investigating a traffic incident resulting in the death of a male adult person at Bibolo, Munda on 22 August 2020.

It has been reported that the deceased was allegedly drunk and walked across the road in the Bibolo area of Munda when a PRADO vehicle travelling on the road hit him. The deceased was rushed to the Helena Goldie Hospital by bystanders and but was later pronounced dead

The Central Response Unit (CRU) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara City today (31 August) started a two-day Public Order Management (POM) Level 1 and 2 Training for frontline officers serving in the City.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Superintendent George Paikai says, “The frontline officers are from Naha, White River and Central Police Stations. The training is to fill up a few gaps in the capability development of officers especially when there are multiple situations happening in the City and the country as whole.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station east of Honiara have arrested a male suspect for allegedly stealing a large amount of cash from a residential house in the Henderson area between Friday night and early morning of Saturday 29 August 2020.

The recently appointed Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Mostyn Mangau and his senior executive are currently at Tulagi, Central Province on a two-day retreat that started today and will end tomorrow (28 August 2020).

Commissioner Mangau says, “As the new Commissioner I have decided that it is necessary that I and my senior executive spend some time at a retreat to bond, establish a better rapport with each other to build a stronger relationship amongst ourselves.”
