Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Gizo have arrested a 28-year-old man for partly damaging the office of the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) at the Western Provincial capital on 9 September 2019.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The suspect was charged and released on bail for malicious damage at Gizo police station on the 9 September 2019.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Gizo, Western Province early today (10 September 2019) responded to a report of a landslide incident that occurred at the Gizo Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) facility in the Malakerava area between 7 and 7:30 am on 10 September 2019.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “We have experienced bad weather since the weekend but last night we experienced really heavy rain.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Gizo, Western Province have arrested and charged three brothers from the Gizo Top hill area for alleged common assault following an incident on 6 September 2019.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The suspects, in their 20’s, are part from Shortland Islands and part Bougainville.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will farewell the Royal Solomon Islands Police Vessel (RSIPV) Lata on 11 September 2019 at Aola Base, Point Cruz in Honiara.

Assistant Commissioner Operations, Chief Superintendent Alfred Uiga says, “The Police Patrol boat Lata was gifted by the Government of Australia to the RSIPF in 1988 to the RSIPF under its Regional Defence Cooperation Program. It was named Lata, after the capital town of Temotu Province.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is advising bus owners, drivers and conductors servicing Guadalcanal Plains in North Guadalcanal that their new bus bay is opposite the Fair West Shipping Office access road down to the old Sea King Restaurant in Central Honiara.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says, “Starting on 9 September 2019 all buses providing services to the people of North Guadalcanal must use this new bay.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Kirakira in the Makira Ulawa have questioned 16 people for an allegation of injuring a father and his son at Naharahau Village, East Wainoni in East Makira on 26 August 2019.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Supervising, Makira Ulawa Province, Inspector Jerry Muaki says, “On Monday 26 of August 2019 Kirakira police received a report from Naharahau Village that a father and his son received injuries to their bodies due to land disputes.”

A man believed to be in his 70’s has died after being allegedly killed by a crocodile at Olive Village in the Roviana Lagoon, Western Province during the afternoon of 2 September 2019.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Officer Commanding Munda Police Station, Sergeant Rachel Lilo says, “The body of the man, who was from Olive Village in the Roviana Lagoon, was found beside the island of Belobelo, in the Roviana Lagoon.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki, Malaita Province are investigating an allegation which appeared in the media accusing officers of the misuse of a police vehicle in the provincial capital.

Operation Manager, RSIPF Malaita Province, Inspector Charles Edward Koto says, “We were made aware of the allegation when the Solomon Star newspaper carried the story on 2 September 2019.
