The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) reminds members of the public that despite the lifting of the Liquor Ban its officers will ensure that licensed premises observe their opening hours and that members of the public consume alcohol responsibly.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joseph Manelugu who is currently Commander of the National General Election Police Operation Centre (POC) says, “It is alleged that on the afternoon of 8 April 2019, an argument broke out between supporters of two election candidates in the Baegu/ Asifola Constituency.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are mourning the death of a senior Police Constable who passed away on 6 April 2019.
As part of the Police protocol all the RSIPF flags are flown at half-mast in honour of a fallen comrade.
Late Senior Police Constable Suzie Seuika, was from Mole Vanga Village in Choiseul Province. She served the RSIPF for 22 years.

The Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) announces an extension of the liquor ban for Honiara and Guadalcanal Province till 8 April 2019.
Under Section 82(1) of the Liquor Act, the Caretaker Minister of Home Affairs, Ishmael Avui today issued an order to extend the original nation-wide liquor ban, which lapses at midnight tonight, 6th April.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) says the polling, counting and declaration of the results in the National General Election (NGE) in Choiseul Province from 3-5 April 2019 has been peaceful.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Choiseul Province Superintendent Vincent Eria says, “As PPC for Choiseul Province, I would like to thank the deployed RSIPF officers from Honiara and those in Choiseul, the NGE Electoral Manager and his staff, for the part they played in this NGE including the polling and counting of ballot papers.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested three men following a raid for brewing kwaso at Namoruka, West Honiara on 6 April 2019.
Items collected during the raid included 1x44 galloon bin, 6x 7 galloon black buckets, 13x 5 galloon white jerry cans, and 2 x 4 galloon jerry cans used in the kwaso fermenting process.
Three suspects were arrested and are currently in police custody for further dealings and items seized are kept as exhibits for court.
Deputy Commissioner Police (DCP) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Gabriel Manelusi who is responsible for Operations says the Combined Task Group (CTG) comprising of the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces has greatly improved the communications assets of the RSIPF.
“I greatly appreciate the work of personnel from the CTG in assisting the RSIPF to improve radio communications between police stations across Solomon Islands ahead of the National General Election (NGE),” says DCP Manelusi.

Traffic officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested five vehicle drivers during a traffic operation conducted opposite the St. John Community High School in West Honiara today (5 April 2019).
Deputy Director, Kukum Traffic, Inspector Brian Surimalefo says, “The vehicle drivers were arrested and warned for prosecution for; driving unlicensed motor vehicle, permitting unlicensed motor vehicle, permitting unlicensed driver and driving without a valid driver’s license.”
