Provincial Police Commander, Choiseul Province call on good people of Choiseul Province to celebrate responsibly during this festive season.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria says, “As Choiseul Province go towards Christmas and New Year 2019 celebration I call for a Crime – Free in our communities on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.”

Police in Western Province commends the assistance of some of the Crime Prevention Committees (CPC’s) in the Province for their supporting police during the past eleven months.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Western Province, Chief Superintendent Matthias Lenialu says “The CPC’s for Ward 7 Vonunu , Ward 10 Dovele, both on Vella la Vella Island and ward 3 on Simbo Island were actively involved in maintaining Law and Order in the communities.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) donate sport items to Adaliua Community Youths as part of its Crime Prevention Strategy to encourage youth engagement in sport rather than criminal activities yesterday 19 December 2018.

An officer before presenting the sport items to the youths conducted an awareness talk about the risks of involving in crime during the festive season and encouraged youths to involve in sport, community work, and Church activities.

A ring leader in relation to an assault case incident occurred recent at Sepi Village, Bugotu in Isabel Province surrendered himself to police after police arrested six suspects for the same incident on 18 December 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Isabel Province, Superintendent Leonard Tahnimana says, “On 16 December 2018 the victim went ask his boss at Sepi Village about his payment for his work he did for sawing timbers. He did asked for his payments because it was already four months but he did not received his payment.”

Police at Taro in Choiseul Province arrested a 26-year-old male suspect for raping a 16-year-old girl at Ghaghara sea side in North East Choiseul on 8 December 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria says, “It is another sad rape incident occurred again in Choiseul Province. To make it worst the suspect of this rape incident is a close relative of the victim. The suspect supposed to be the one who should take care of the victim instead he raped her.”

Police at Gizo in Western Province arrested, charged and remanded a 27-year-old suspect for alleged store break-in at Lengana Village on Simbo Island in Western Province on the 4 December 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Mathias Lenialu says, “It was alleged that the accused went inside the victim’s family home and intent to steal. He climb up lander steps and tries to open the main door but it was locked. He broke the window removed the glasses and unlocked door from inside.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) conduct Sea Safety campaign which started on the 1 December 2018 and will be finish on the month of January 2019.

Commissioner of Police Mr Matthew Varley during his weekly Media Conference says, “Sea Safety campaign is continuing. The campaign is led by Solomon Island Maritime Authority and supported by the Police Maritime, Honiara City and our Provincial Police.”
