The Royal Solomon Police Force (RSIPF) is investigating a human foetus found inside the water at White River in West Honiara on 18 February 2019.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says, “The human foetus was discovered yesterday morning (18 February) by two children playing along the river.”

PPC Riolo says, “The two children reported the matter to their parent who referred the matter to police at the White River Police Station.”

A 32-year-old man has been remanded in custody at the Gizo Correctional Centre in Western Province since on 13 February 2019 in connection with an alleged attempted murder incident.

It is alleged that in the morning of 12 February 2019 at Titiana Village, on Gizo Island, the defendant attacked his wife with a bush knife wounding her on her left arm.

The victim was transported to the Gizo Hospital where she was treated for the injury to her arm.

The National Crime Prevention Department of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) continues with its National General Election (NGE) community engagement visits when officers visited the Wesley United Church in Honiara on 17 February 2019.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Crime Prevention and National Capital, Simpson Pogeava says, “Today we are here to share with you information concerning the National General Election including the responsibility of voters and the general public, the responsibilities of the RSIPF and the offences and penalties under the Electoral Act.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is implementing plans to boost its communication coverage to all provinces as it prepares for the National General Election (NGE) on 3 April 2019.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention says, “My committee that oversees operations and communications in the planning for the RSIPF operation during the NGE looked at options to ensure RSIPF is able to communicate with at least 80 to 90 percent of the provinces from the base in Honiara.”
