The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Police Brass band gear up for the 41st Second Appointment day in Malaita Province, which will happen on 15 August 2024.

The practice session happens at Auki police station and a proper rehearsal for the parade happens at Auki Primary School sport field where the parade will happen during the second appointed day. Auki Correctional Service officers also formed part of the rehearsal program.

Police officers from Honiara who deployed to Auki were briefed before Malaita 41st second appointed day on 15 August 2024.

Honiara base officers arrived on 12 August in Auki to support Auki police for the Malaita 41st second appointed day.

The Honiara base officers include Police Response Team, Central Response Unit, National Traffic Department and Police Band.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Chief Superintendent Tex Tafoa is appealing to the good law abiding people of Malaita Province for crime free during the 41st second appointed day celebration in Auki.

PPC Tafoa said, “As we will mark the 41st anniversary of our province on 15 August 2024, we must celebrate with some sense of responsibility as we expect some very high level dignitaries will be here with us.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi recently held a Cyber Safety Awareness talk at McMahon Community High School in Tulagi, Central Island Province.

This initiative was aimed at educating students to be responsible when it comes to using social media and other internet applications.

Community Policing Officer, Police Constable (PC) Mathew Mumane said the awareness provided is important for our students about the potential risks associated with social media.

In a show of continued support to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) involvement in sports, the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) and the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) delivered uniforms, playing boots, rugby balls and medical supplies to the RSIPF’s Royals Rugby Union Team.

RSIPF’s Assistant Commissioner, Simpson Pogeava, received the gift on behalf of the Royals Rugby Team from members of RAPPP and SIAF during a brief but significant ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters today.

Honiara based commanders of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) boosted with a two-day workshop on command capability at Rove police headquarter recently.

The two-day workshop was conducted by the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) with the aim of strengthening the command ability of senior officers and cultivating their leadership for better tactical planning, conflict management, and emergency handling.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) team has successfully concluded a significant operation in the Western Province recently.

Director of the EODD Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The team safely located and removed more than 100 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) that have posed a threat to local communities for many years.”

This operation was completed over a period of just eight days with no harm caused to anyone in the operation areas and communities commend the EODD team for their neat and well-done job.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) hosted a community engagement event recently with St John high school at Rove sport field.

The event focused on building a positive relationship with police and the local community with approximately 500 students ranging from forms one to four participated.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has partnered with the Ministry of Communication and Aviation, Communication Divisions' newly formed Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) to roll out a Cyber Safety Awareness Program to schools across Honiara.

The program aims to provide school children with the information they need to stay safe when using the internet and social media. The program, now in its third week will be delivered to the 19 schools prioritized by CERT.

A three-bed room permanent house burnt down to ashes at Betikekerao settlement, in small Ngella, Central Islands Province (CIP) recently.

Tulagi police have received the report and responded to the fire incident but the house has already burnt down to ashes.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Islands Province, Inspector George Mouli said, “The owner of the house told his relative to look after the house while he was away to Honiara.”
