Police at Taro in Choiseul Province is investigating a fatal accident that occurred at the Kutu logging camp in East Choiseul which resulted in one death and two injuries on 10 October 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria says, “It was a sad incident that claimed the life of a male person in his 30’s from Lulimekolo Village. The group of seven local men were allegedly having a few beers after work at Dudurana log pond. After finishing their drinks they decided to travel to a nearby village to buy more.”

I feel that I have done my part and I have contributed to the security, policing and governance of the organization and my country,” says Superintendent Paul Bulu who retired from the RSIPF on 18 October 2018.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Rugby Team ‘The Royals’ returned home on 15 October 2018 after they came fourth in the inaugural Pacific Military Women’s Rugby sevens tournament (PACMIL Sevens) in Canberra, Australia.

The tournament, organized and funded by the Australian Defense Force (ADF), was attended by other Pacific nations including Australia, Fiji Tonga, Vanuatu, Samoa, New Zealand and the Cook Islands.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) today 18 October 2018 farewelled 10 of its officers who have retired from the Force during a ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

The ceremony included a farewell parade and light refreshments for the retired police officers.

The parade commander for the farewell ceremony was one of the retired officers Superintendent Paul Bulu.

Police at Tulagi in Central Province have been praised for their participation during a programme to mark the official launching of International Rural Women’s Day in that Province on 15 October 2018.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Inspector John Sara says, “The programme was held on Nagotano Island in Sandfly Buenavester. Between five to six hundred women from around the Sandfly area gathered to celebrate the event. This is the first time ever for such an event to be conducted in the rural communities.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek East of Honiara on Thursday 18 October 2018.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal area will be active from 8am to 12pm on 18 October 2018.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) officially opened the Accountability, Authority and Responsibility (AAR) program for its officers today 16 October 2018 at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

Managing Director of New Intelligence Company Steve Longford says, “Today I saw officers of the RSIPF deliver a training program that has been more than four years in the making. Inspector Hansel Saeni and Sergeant Mary Ake are the first independent certified trainers in the Pacific region to deliver this program call AAR-Making Decision in a Law Enforcement Environment.”

The Managing Director of the New Intelligence Company in Australia officially handed over the Accountability, Authority and Responsibility (AAR) program to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) on 15 October 2018 at Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention, Solomon Sisimia says, “I would like to acknowledge Mr Steve Longford and Mr Greg Phillips of the New Intelligence Company for the very important AAR program delivered to RSIPF.”

Police in Auki Malaita Province have arrested and charged a 31-year-old male in relation to a wounding incident at Sarawasi logging camp, small Malaita on 11 October 2018.

It is alleged that the incident is connected to a land dispute connected to logging.

“It will be alleged that in the early hours of 11 October 2018 the accused went over to the victim’s residence,” says Provincial Police Commander Malaita Province Superintendent Timothy Apaesi.

Police at the Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province are investigating a fatal traffic accident resulting in the death of a 3-year-old boy in the Charikulu area of Tangarare, in West Guadalcanal on 11 October 2018.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Nixon Manetoga says, “The incident occurred between 4 and 5pm on 11 October in the Charikulu area at Tangarare.”
