Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police (RSIPF) participated in the Woodford International School careers exhibition program on 9 May at the School in East Honiara.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Mr Simpson Pogeava says, “Officers who took part were from the National Community Policing, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Fire & Rescue Services, Traffic officers, Human Resources and Police Response Team (PRT).

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek East of Honiara on Thursday 10 May 2018.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal area will be active from 8am to 2pm on 10 May 2018.”

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province Superintendent Patricia Leta urges her officers to understand the power of the media and utilise it to disseminate information to the communities about the work of the police.

Speaking at the opening of a five-day Media Awareness Workshop at the Tulagi Police Station today 7 May, PPC Leta says, “Media is one of the most powerful entities in the world today. The media gets your message to a wider audience and it also influences our societies.”

Police at the Maka Police Post in Malaita Province have arrested three suspects for allegedly disrupting the water supply system at the Riverside Village on Small Malaita on 2 April 2018.

Operation Manager Malaita Province, Inspector Michael Maebiru says, “It was revealed that the alleged incident is associated with a dispute over a portion of land on which the water source is situated. The dispute occurred between members of the Tetele and Pululaha communities in Small Malaita.”

A 47 year-old man who has been on the run following the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman in the Tenaru area of Central Guadalcanal has been arrested by police in Malu’u, North Malaita on 30 April 2018.

It is alleged that on the morning of 8 April 2018, the woman was intending to travel to Honiara when she was taken on board a car at the Henderson area to Tenaru where she was allegedly raped by a passenger in the vehicle.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) responsible for the roll out of the Crime Prevention Strategy into the communities throughout the country are now equipped to assist other officers to train members of the Ward Crime Prevention Committees.

This follows the completion of the four-day Crime Prevention Strategy (CPS) Train the Trainer’s workshop which ended today 3 April 2018 at the Rove Police Headquarter in Honiara.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Police Response Unit (PRT) and Criminal Investigators from Honiara Central Police Station have arrested five suspects in regards to an alleged robbery at the Happy Day Shop, in the Point Cruz area last night 1 May 2018.

Police at Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province are investigating an attack on four men at Naro Village in West Guadalcanal on 25 April 2018.

It is alleged a 20-year-old man armed with a bush knife attacked four other men at Naro Village on the night of 25 April 2018. It is further alleged that one of the four men, a 27-year-year old, sustained an injury to his left hand during the attack.

It is also alleged that as a result of the attack, the other three men who have been lucky not to be injured retaliated and bashed up the alleged attacker injuring him.
