The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) took delivery of a leaf hut in Auki, Malaita Province on Friday, thanks to the support of the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

This is the fifth leaf hut delivered to the RSIPF by the APF through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

This initiative, which commenced last year in Honiara, is part of a collaborative effort aimed at strengthening community-police relations and expanding access to justice across the Solomon Islands.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) strongly appeals to all liquor license holders throughout the country to observe the liquor ban declared from 16 – 26 April 2024 to coincide with the Joint Election 2024 next week.

The Liquor Ban Order has been issued by the Caretaker Minister of Home Affairs Christopher Laore under section 82(1) of the Liquor Act (Cap. 144). The Order has already been gazetted.

Emergency Response Group (ERG) of the Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) have taken their oath of office as authorised officers to support the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) for the joint elections 2024.

The 65 ERG officers were taken their oath of office before the RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau at Rove police headquarters last week.

A joint Public Order Management (POM) training exercise was conducted as part of the police preparedness for the upcoming joint elections and the formation of a new government.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is prepared to deliver safe and secure joint elections and will be out in force throughout the election period.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) conducted an awareness talk at Mwaniwiriwiri village in central Makira last week.

The awareness talks have been conducted in support of the provincial policing in preparations for the upcoming joint elections on 17 April 2024.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have conducted an awareness program at Makaruka and Naho communities in east Guadalcanal on 3 April 2024.

The awareness program is part of RSIPF engagement plan to reach out to certain communities in the country in preparation for the joint elections 2024.

A team led by the Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operations (NO) and Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province arrived in Marau police station this week for the awareness program.

Twenty five officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Buala police station have successfully completed a six days Public Order Management (POM) training delivered by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) recently.

During the opening ceremony, CPLT Deputy Commissioner Wang Feng says, “We are very happy to continuously support the RSIPF to boost its capability as it’s preparation for the joint elections in 17 April 2024.”

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have appealed to the community leaders for a safe and secure joint elections 2024.

The appeal was made during an awareness program conducted at Gizo, Ringi, Noro and Munda last week during his provincial tour to the Western Province.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr. Ian Vaevaso of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have assured voters in Western Province (WP) that police will ensure the election process is carried out peacefully and successfully.

The assurance was made during his provincial visit to the WP last week as part of the community engagement program of the RSIPF in preparation for the joint election 2024.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Mr. Ian Vaevaso paid a courtesy visit to police officers stationed at Gizo, Ringi, Noro, and Munda Police stations and posts during his Western Province tour last week.

The aim of the visit is to encourage officers to continue performing their duties as expected by the communities surrounding them to continue to uphold law and order.
