The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is appealing to the supporters of intending candidates who will be running for the upcoming National General Election 2024 (NGE24) to stop threatening each other during the campaign period.

The appeal came after a group of men came to Henderson Police Station and raised some issues which had occurred at a constituency in Guadalcanal Province last week.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki and Atoifi have arrested two suspects for attempted murder at Maone village in east Kwaio over the weekend.

Commissioner RSIPF Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “It was alleged that the suspects believed that the victim arranged their mother to have a love affair with another person.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “One of the two suspects struck the victim with a bush knife several times but the victim missed it.”

New Zealand Police under the Solomon Island Police Support Program (SIPSP) handed over audio speakers and its accessories worth $40,000.00 plus Solomon dollars to the Learning and Development (L&D) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) on 13 March 2024 at Rove police headquarters.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said during his press conference, this equipment is state of the art audio equipment used for enhancing the presentations and training that is delivered by RSIPF staff working at the L&D from Rove Police headquarters.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have conducted Unexploded Ordnance (UXOs) in Choiseul Province.

The operation is to secure livelihoods and promote safety in Taro and surrounding communities in collaboration with local authorities and community leaders on their recent trip.

EODD aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the people in Solomon Islands that are continually affected by the World War II remnants.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Women's Advisory Network (WAN) has elected a new committee to lead and drive initiatives aimed at empowering women within the RSIPF.

The new committee comprises of Inspector Georgina Taupongi as chairperson, Staff Sergeant Vivian Foanaota as vice chairperson, Sergeant Samanthan Kikoni as Secretary, Inspector Racheal Kiplay as Treasurer and five committee members. RSIPF female officers also elected leaders for their working committee and social committee.

Nine officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Central Province are the latest recipients of a 5-step Mindset Training program conducted recently.

The New Zealand Police, under the Solomon Island Police Support Program (SIPSP) alongside the Provincial Training Officer (PTO), Constable Matthew Mumane and Constable Benjamin Pitakaka delivered Mindset Training in Tulagi.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Makira-Ulawa province were boosted with police operational equipment handed over by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) last week which was held at Kirakira provincial capital.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira-Ulawa Province, Superintendent Peter Sitai said the caretaker premier of Makira Ulawa Province Honourable (Hon) Julian Maka’a on behalf of RSIPF officers took delivery of Public Order Management (POM) equipment.

Thirty officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have completed a three days Public Order Management (POM) training in Taro, Choiseul Province.

The POM training has been conducted by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) as part of the preparation for the joint National General Election 2024 in April.

A total of 30 officers were awarded with certificates and also best students awarded during the training for their outstanding performance.

A total of 21 police officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Western Province (WP) have trained in Public Order Management (POM) in preparation for the joint National General Election 2024 (NGE24) in April 2024.

On the 6 of March 2024, Police Respond Department (PRD) Training wing and the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) advisors, open a three days intensive Training for Provincial Support Unit (PSU) Unit in Gizo, Western Province.
