About 40 plus Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have completed a three days training on command awareness at Rove police headquarters last week.
The 40 plus Honiara based RSIPF officers who attended the training from different departments and units within the RSIPF as part of the preparation for the NGE24.
The training has been provided by the two facilitators from the National Police College in the United Kingdom (UK) who arrived in the country on 26 February 2024.

Seven hundred plus unexploded ordnance (UXOs) have been destroyed in Western Province (WP) after a 12 days operation.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) were deployed to the WP and destroyed those World War II dangerous remnants.
Supervising Commissioner RSIPF Mr. Ian Vaevaso says, “RSIPF EODD Officers have just returned from a 12 days operation in the Western Province.”

In a display of community spirit and collaboration, police staged a massive community engagement event at the White River playing field on 29 February.
The one-day event brought together hundreds of community members and students, including children, for a day filled with education, games, entertainment and interaction.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will be conducting unexploded ordnance (UXOs) operations in the Choiseul Province from 6 to 11 March 2024.
The tasks will significantly be carried out in the areas of Taro, Sipozae, Tarekukure, Solovae, Subesube and the surrounding areas.
Acting Director RSIPF-EODD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “It is advisable that the surrounding communities report any sightings of UXOs whilst the team is on the ground, so that those World War II remnants can be dealt with accordingly.”
As the country prepares for the National General Elections set for 17 April 2024, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is intensifying its efforts to ensure a secure and orderly electoral process.
Part of these efforts include a comprehensive Public Order Management (POM) training program that has been rolled out into the various departments, units and stations of the RSIPF.
The POM training program, delivered by RSIPF trainers, started in February with the support of the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

Police have arrested nine suspects for demanding ten thousand dollars from the Bazo community in Savo Island last week for unknown reason.
The arrest came about after the nine suspects from a village in Malaita province led by a pastor went over to Savo and demanded compensation.
The Boza community were not happy with their pastor for the past years who has been benefiting from their Honourable Member of Parliament (MP).
Recently the honourable member called the pastor and gave him some amount of dollars purposely for his community but he did not share it with them.
Provincial Training Officers (PTOs) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) across the country have recently completed their one week training held at Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara recently.
The training provides skills and capability building for the PTOs to allow them to deliver the best training to their respective staff within the provinces.
The training was led by the Solomon Islands Police Support Programme (SIPSP) New Zealand Police Senior Advisor Dean HENDERSON together with the staff at the Rove Police Academy Department.

Members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Australian Federal Police (AFP), RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) and the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) staged a joint community engagement event at Kukum on 15 February 2024.
Over 400 residents from communities in and around the Kukum area took part in the community event. They include residents from Fishery village, Woodford, Mbua Valley, Bahai and Saint Nicholas area.

Auki Community Policing Team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force in Malaita Province have conducted an awareness talk program at Fulisango community in Central Kwara’ ae on Sunday 26 February 2024.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Leslie Kili said, the awareness talk was based on navigating political issues with a Christian mindset while the message was more focused on Christians to prepare their mindset to face the turbulent waters of political issues.
