Provincial Training Officers (PTOs) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) attended a one week training in Honiara starting today (12 February 2024).

The RSIPF Learning and Development team (L&D) and the New Zealand (NZ) Solomon Islands Police Support Program (SIPSP) commenced the second Provincial Trainers week-long training workshop at the Training Academy at Rove police headquarters.

The Course brings together the RSIPF PTOs and exposes them to advanced training that they can take back to their province and deliver to their RSIPF colleagues and peers.

The police maritime of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have rescued eight passengers between Florida Islands (Ngella) and Guadalcanal on 8 February 2024.

Director Police Maritime, Chief Superintendent Russell Tagini said the boat encountered the fuel shortage problem outside Lungga and started to drift back to Tulagi.

Chief Superintendent Tagini said we received a request from Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) and our search and rescue team responded in about 45 minutes and rescued the passengers.

Honiara City Police has partnered with the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) for an operation to address growing concerns about antisocial behaviour and emerging crimes in the Honiara Central Business District.

Provincial Police Commander for Honiara City, Chief Supt. Jimson Robo, expressed gratitude to the Honiara City Operation Team for commencing the operation and to SIAF members for their support.

Honiara City Police Operation Manager, Insp. Tex Tafoa, highlighted the operation's significance in light of upcoming elections.

Villagers at Komaleai, in the Shortland Islands have found a dead body of a male person when they travel to Buin for market on 3 February 2024.

It was confirmed that the dead body is a Solomon Islander from Malaita who was married to a woman from Lagovis village in south Bougainville.

It was alleged that the deceased (Mark Iro) died during a fishing trip from Bougainville on Friday 2 February 2024.

Provincial Police Commanders (PPCs) and Directors of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have commenced a one week conference in Honiara in preparation for synchronised National General Election 2024 (NGE24).

The PPCs and Director started on 5 February and finished on 9 February 2024 with the theme ‘Empower, Prevail and Protect’ which were officiated by the Commissioner of RSIPF.

Eight officers of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) within the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have successfully completed their week-long training on 31 January 2024 at Hells Point.

The training was delivered by four instructors from the Japan Ministry of Defence, which was made possible through the bilateral collaboration project.

The training was purposely conducted to educate officers on the Japanese ordnances from World War II found in Solomon Islands.

An injured victim was unconsciously bashed by thieves, tried to run across the road for his life but unfortunately was hit by a vehicle and died later at the National Referral Hospital (NRH).

Director National Traffic Department (NTD), Superintendent William Foufaka said the NTD of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have been investigating the fatal accident that has happened recently at Bahai bus stop.

A total of 56 officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Correctional Services Solomon Islands (CSSI) in Malaita have graduated during two weeks intensive Public Order Management (POM) at Kilusakwalo on Friday last week (26 January 2024).

A total of 47 RSIPF and nine CSSI officers participated in the training. Among the total of 56 RSIPF and CSSI officers, five female officers also took part in the training.

China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) and officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) co-organized safety education and cultural exchange activities and donated sport items to Kilusakwalo Christian Community High School (KCCHS) on 25 January 2024.

The theme of the activity is ‘Hand in hand, Heart to heart for a beautiful future’.
