Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers at Kirakira police station in Makira-Ulawa Province had conducted a law and order awareness talk to people of Warihito communities in Makira-Ulawa Province recently.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira-Ulawa Province Superintendent Peter Sitai says, “Awareness team were impressed with the turnout from people in the community during the awareness talk.”

The third China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) deployed in the country for the past seven months were farewelled and presented with certificates of appreciation letters and international law enforcement cooperation medals.

The farewell dinner took place at the Fairyland restaurant on 14 September 2023 and the presentation happened on the same day in the morning at Rove police headquarters.

On 12 September, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) took receipt of a tEODor Remote Positioning Vehicle (RPV) which was delivered through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

AFP Assistant Commissioner Asia Pacific Command, Nigel Ryan, presented the gift demonstrating the AFP’s continued commitment to advance the capabilities of the RSIPF to protect communities and RSIPF officers.

The tEODor RPV is a remote-controlled robot used by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams around the world to manage the risk of explosive devices.

The Police Response Department (PRD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will provide Public Order Management (POM) instructor training for Samoa and Vanuatu Police officers.

The training started on 13 September 2023 with an official opening, which was officiated by the Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr Simpson Pogeava at the Rove police headquarters.

The Provincial Police Commanders (PPCs) and Departmental Directors of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) concluded its three days conference in the capital Honiara yesterday (13 September 2023).

The conference gathered all the PPCs from different provinces and Departmental Directors of the RSIPF to plan as part of the preparation for the Pacific Games 2023 (PG23) and National General Election 2024 (NGE24).

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara are still investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred in Honiara last week.

Police Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau said that the incident occurred between 2am and 3am on 9 September 2023 at their residence at Panatina.

“The couple were Solomon Island citizens with their three children who are still in Korea.”

The new Kukum Traffic Centre was officially opened today (11 September) and handed to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

The centre, which can accommodate up to 70 traffic officers, provides the RSIPF with a modern work environment and equipped with brand new IT equipment.

In addition to managing future traffic operations, the new facility will enable RSIPF to deliver high quality police operations and services to Solomon Islands communities.

Digital Forensic Operators of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have had the opportunity to learn valuable skills from a visiting Australian Federal Police (AFP) Digital Forensic expert.

Mr. Chris Andrews used his short visit to the country to share his wealth of experience and knowledge in digital forensics with RSIPF Digital Forensic Operators within the Forensic Services Unit (FSU).

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at White River Police Station conducted a successful quick snap raid operation at Namoruka area in White River, West Honiara, on 7 September that resulted in a large volume of home-made spirit (kwaso) confiscated.

Senior Officer Leading the Operation Team confirmed their operation confiscated huge volume of kwaso that is estimated to have raised SBD$100,000 once sold.

This event was successfully implemented through the continuous effort and support from the Crime Prevention Unit at Kirakira Police Station and the assistance received from the community.
