The awareness talk was conducted at the Lau valley school area on 22 November 2023 for about hundred plus people, mostly youths and young children.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo Police Station are conducting a general enquiry into the death of an adult male person who allegedly committed suicide.
The suicide incident as happened at Solomon Power Station area in Gizo, Western Province on 21 November 2023.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, "An initial report received by police says day before the deceased committed suicide he went to his adopted mother’s house in Gizo Town.”
Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a 40-year-old male person at pit one, at the Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) in Central Guadalcanal on 21 November 2023.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) thanked the general public for the peaceful celebrations last night during the Sol2023 Pacific Games official opening ceremony at the National Stadium at East of Honiara.
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “The opening ceremony is a success, I am happy to inform everyone that there were no major incidents reported during the ceremony last night.”

New fire advisor for the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Fire and Rescue Department, Inspector Matt Goldman, is happy with their Department’s readiness for the Pacific Games.
Goldman, a member of the Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW), is here under a secondment arrangement between the FRNSW and the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
Under this arrangement, the AFP source technical support, training and equipment from the FRNSW and deliver them to the RSIPF through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is ready to deliver a safe and secure 17th Sol2023 Pacific Games as we prepare for the official opening this coming Sunday.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operation and Sol2023 Pacific Games Operation Commander said the RSIPF as lead security agency for the Pacific Games operations have diligently planned and committed to ensuring a safe and memorable Pacific Games for everyone.
AC Thugea said she is confident with all the security arrangements for athletes, officials, and visitors attending the Pacific Games.
The Zebra crossing at King George Sixth school roundabout will be closed during the 17th Sol2023 Pacific Games.
Director National Traffic Department (NTD) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Superintendent William Foufaka said this is to allow the traffic flow during the games event.
Director Foufaka said a temporary crossing will be further 20 metres away from the King George Sixth school roundabout eastern side. NTD are working closely with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development to relocate the temporary crossing.
