Police Brass Band of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have participated in community engagement, providing music and entertainment during the consecration of Transfiguration Church at Sapapera village, North Guadalcanal on 6 August 2023.
Over hundreds of people from surrounding communities have also attended the event and enjoyed the great performance the police band put on in their efforts to build safer communities.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has issued a warning to residents of Gizo, the provincial center of Western Province, to be vigilant of dog attack.
Western Province’s Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Chief Supt. Mathias Lenialu, issued the warning following a deadly stray dog attack that led to the death of a person in Gizo.
According to PPC Lenialu, the deceased sustained critical injuries from the dog attack and was admitted at the Gizo Hospital but later passed away on 1 August 2023.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Kirakira, Makira-Ulawa Province, are continuing to roll out the RSIPF Crime Prevention Strategy in communities in the Province.
The RSIPF Community Policing Team in Kirakira witnessed a By-law launching programme that was held at Asimanioha Community (Ward 8) in West Makira Constituency on 3 August 2023.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Western Province, Chief Supt. Mathias Lenialu, reminded the people in the province to always think ‘safety first’ when travelling out at sea during bad weather.
Chief Supt. Lenialu said the recent tragedy in the province involving an OBM that was sunk between Gizo and Kolombangara Island leaving three missing and four rescued is a reminder to everyone to take heed of warning issued by the Solomon Islands Metrological Service.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station have arrested a male suspect in relation to the petrol bomb incident at Kukum recently.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr. Ian Vaevaso says, “The arrest was made on 25 July 2023 in a quick snap police operation and currently the suspect was on remand after court approved a remand application from the police.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki have arrested a 60-year-old father for raping her 9-year-old daughter in Auki on 1 August 2023.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province Superintendent Leslie Kili says, “The rape incident has happened on 27 July 2023 front of a shop in Auki town at around 10pm.”
PPC Kili says, “The suspect was charged for rape and he appear before the Auki Magistrates’ Court this morning (3 August 2023) and released on strict bail condition.
Hundreds of people attended the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Open Day in Honiara on 27 July 2023 where officers educated the public about the capabilities of the police and other emergency services.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has delivered a SBD$7.5 million (AUD$1.325 million) support package to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF).
The support package, which was delivered through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), and Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF), will support and enhance the RSIPF capabilities in preparation for the Pacific Games in November and beyond.
