The capability of Close Personal Protection (CPP) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) boosted with the latest policing equipment’s handover by the People’s Republic of China at Rove Police headquarters on 28 June 2023.

Among the latest capabilities that were handed over are night-vision devices, drones, vehicle search mirrors, full range wireless signal jammer, other protective items and two new vehicles which cost about 5.5 million Solomon Island dollars.

Fifteen police officers of the National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) completed a workshop on Economic Crime Prevention recently.

The workshop was organized on 22 June 2023 by experts from China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).

Two permanent dwelling houses were burnt down in ashes at Tebaieha village in Renbel Province on 23 June 2023.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tigoa in Renbel Province are currently investigating the arson incident.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Renbel Province Inspector Eddie Peseika says, “ upon receiving the report Tigoa police attended to the scene and confirmed that both houses were burnt down completely.”

PPC Peseika says, “Police in Tigoa registered an enquiry file and investigation into the matter continues.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tigoa in Renbel Province have conducted an enquiry in relation to a suicide incident.

A 22 year-old male person hanged himself in a house near an old mining camp in Rennel Island on 25 June 2023.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Renbel Province Inspector Eddie Peseika says, “Initial report stated that the deceased had an argument with his elder brother the night before the sad incident happened.”

Police are investigating a suspicious death of a Novice brother of the Church of Melanesian whose body was found with some deep wound lying at the seaside close to Tolegu village at Havulei district in Isabel Province.

The National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are working closely with Buala police to investigate the suspicious death.

The Body of the deceased were referred for post mortem on 21 June 2023 at National Referral Hospital morgue.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo Police Station in Western Province are investigating an arson incident that occurred at Kongulavata Village, Gizo Island on 16 June 2023.

The permanent dwelling house was on fire when the owners were away to do business in Gizo Town.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says during his press conference that upon their arrival a villager informed them that they had tried to put off the fire but were unable as the fire spread quickly that left the house to ashes.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Atori and Atoifi have arrested an 18-year-old male suspect in relation to a grievous bodily harm incident at Fiu Village, East Kwaio in Malaita on 2 June 2023.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau during his press conference says, “The arrest was made on 19 June 2023 and now the suspect is in Auki police custody for further dealings.”

Police are working on his remand application to remand the suspect since the nature of the case is quite sensitive.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Munda Police Station have arrested and charged a 35 year-old male person for assaulting a 39-years-old female victim at Kindu village in Munda, Western Province on 15 June 2023.

It was alleged that the suspect assaulted the victim with a Bluetooth speaker on her face.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers, the Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) and the Police Band mounted a colourful Parade at the official program in commemoration of His Majesty King Charles III official 74th Birthday at the Lawson Tama.

Solomon Islands today celebrated the first King's Birthday. There were five parade groups which were also part of the parade and they are the HCC Law enforcement group, Scouts, Girl Guides, Brownies and the Salvation Army.
