Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Kirakira are investigating a sudden death of a man in his 50’s after his body was found beside a dwelling house in Kirakira town on 9 May 2023.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira-Ulawa Province, Superintendent Peter Sitai said it was alleged that a male person in his 50’s was initially found lying on the ground beside a dwelling house.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Emergency Management and Special Event Planning Department (NEMSEP) have completed the Pacific Games (PG23) Security Planning Workshop conducted by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) at Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara on 11 May.

Seven (7) Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Officers have completed a three-week forensics course at the Rove Police Headquarters last Friday.

RSIPF Honiara-based and province-based forensics officers attended the combined ‘Forensic Qualifying and Phase 1 Drug Investigation Course.’

The New Zealand (NZ) Police of the Solomon Islands Police Support Programme (SIPSP) have handed over laptops and projectors worth SBD $100,000.00 on 8 May 2023 at Rove police headquarters to the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF).

The laptops, projectors and memory sticks are art of the capacity and capability development of the Provincial Training Officers (PTO) across the RSIPF. NZ Police have gifted ten laptops and ten projectors to be distributed to the RSIPF Provincial Training Officers across the Solomon Islands.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force [RSIPF] Human Resources Department has completed the Interview Process for the Honiara Candidates. Due to the large number of Shortlisted Candidates, Applicants are advised to check for their names at any nearby Police Station within Honiara City including Henderson Police Station for the Entry Fitness Test that will happen on Sunday 14th May 2023.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) would like to remind Honiara residents to remain safe and mindful of their personal security.

RSIPF Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau, is sending out a message to Honiara residents urging them stay away from large gatherings and any other suspicious activities. And that this is particularly important in the lead up to Parliament sitting.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) are prepared to maintain peace and order in Solomon Islands during “Operation Parliament.” Teams have been briefed and are well-equipped to provide a safe and secure sitting of Parliament next week.

The Operation will provide security, protection and a response capability to any unrest or disturbance during the Parliamentary sitting period.

Officers of the National Traffic Department (NTD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) with the support of Solomon Islands Assistance Force (SIAF) mounted a traffic operation recently and arrested 17 suspects for traffic related offenses.

A total of 380 plus vehicles have been checked during the operation which happened at City Council roundabout.

The operation is part of the implementation of the Safe and Green Games strategy that police are currently rolling out.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has welcomed eight police officers who have completed and graduated with International Mine Action Standard (IMAS) level 3 certificate at the RSIPF EOD Range Faculty, Hells Point on 5 May 2023.
The eight newly graduates were certified to EOD Level 2 in 2022. They have consolidated and developed their skills with on the job training over the past year, which prepares them to meet the training requirements and successfully completed the level 3 course.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Noro Police Station have established a death inquiry file of the death of a 49-years-old male person in Western Province over the weekend.

Police have attended the incident where his body was found in a bedroom at his relative’s residence at Noro.

Noro Police Station received an urgent call from relatives at around 7am in the morning to attend to the report.
