Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers who applied to join the Police Response Department (PRD) have undergone a selection program at the Rove Police Headquarters.

The selection program is one of the first assessment gateways for RSIPF officers wishing to join the PRD.

Two (2) female officers were among 39 male officers made it to the program out of more than 100 applicants from Police officers all over the country.

Provincial Police Commanders (PPCs) and Departmental Directors of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have successfully concluded on 5th May 2023 in Honiara.

During the official closing ceremony, RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau sincerely thanked and acknowledged the PPCs and Directors for their great efforts, leadership and professionalism to complete the desired conference requirements as witnessed at the conclusion of a long week conference.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) organised a send-off service to pay respect to late police Superintendent Chris Laekalia at the Saint Barnabas Cathedral church, in Honiara on 5 May 2023.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Pogeava said, “The sad news of the passing away of late superintendent Laekalia is really hard news for us RSIPF organization, family members, relatives and friends.

A total of sixteen investigators of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) were presented with a certificate of appreciation on 4 May 2023.

The investigators completed a four days intensive training delivered by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT). Investigators attending the training were from the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) at Rove police headquarters.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Criminal Investigations Department (NCID) are investigating the death of an adult male person who was believed to hang himself inside a bathroom on 30 April 2023 at Kaibia heights.

Director NCID, Superintendent Michael Bole says, “It was alleged that the deceased had an argument with his partner over some marital issues early that evening before hanging himself around 8 and 9pm.”

The Director National Respond Department Chief Superintendent Francis Ramoni has urged the Close Personal Protection (CPP) Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) to make use of the training provided by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).

The training happens on 3 May 2023 with a small official opening ceremony at Rove Police Headquarters and concluded on 4 May 2023.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has farewelled the late Police Constable Samuel Mostyn Authenga at the Kukum Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, in East Honiara on 2 May 2023.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau Gave an eulogy tribute at the funeral service.

Commissioner Mangau said the sad news of the passing away of the serving officer of the RSIPF to work colleagues is certainly a difficult thing to bear. I am lost for words to describe the sadness that all of us have experienced from the news of the passing away of one of our own.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) took part in the Pacific Forensic Working Group (PFWG) meeting held in Canberra, Australia recently.

This was the first time the meeting had been held face to face in three years since COVID-19.

The RSIPF Forensic Unit is a member of the PFWG and two of the RSIPF forensic officers attended the meeting.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are conducting a live demolition of a US bomb at Garivera area in Malango, Central Guadalcanal.

Second In-charge (2IC) EOD, Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Peter Ririvere said the task will be carried out in the Garivera area and will be active as of 8am this morning Wednesday 3 May 2023 up to 1pm in the afternoon.

Investigators of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) will boost its capabilities on economic crime investigation provided by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) during a four days training this week.

The four days training on economic crime investigation started yesterday (1 May 2023) which was officiated by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Crime and Intelligence Ms. Patricia Leta at Rove Police Headquarters.
