The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) would like to clarify an article published in Solomon Star with the title ‘affair gone wrong’.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “I would like to put some information right for us that the victim of the case in this report is not dead as reported earlier. The victim is still at Helena Goldie Hospital and on medical treatment.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) call on the good people of Solomon Islands to celebrate responsibly during the festive season as we about to enter the Christmas Eve of 2022 and New Year 2023.
Police Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau says, “We work together as we go along this festive season. I call for a Crime – Free in our communities.”

Mr Mangau says, “I want to call on the Crime Prevention Committees (CPC’s), chiefs, women’s youths and church leaders to work together with your police (RSIPF) to make this festive season a crime free period.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic

Department in Honiara are investigating a traffic incident involving a G-plated vehicle and a bus along the Vura road, opposite the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) School on 22 December 2022.

It is alleged that the G-plated vehicle was owned by the Ministry of Infrastructure Department and the driver was under the influence of alcohol as tested through the breathalyser.

The Community Policing Team of Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki in Malaita Province have received a multi-functional amplifier portable system from China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).

The gift was handed over by the Deputy Team leader Ji Yong to Police Provincial Commander (PPC) Malaita Province Superintendent Leslie Kili at the Aola base wharf on 19 December 2022.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata, Temotu Province have conducted an awareness talk at Kala Bay village on 18 December 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Temotu Province Superintendent James Toaki says, “The purpose of the awareness talk was to strongly remind villagers of Kala Bay and neighbouring Villages to behave and be responsible as we are now approaching Christmas and New Year.”

China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) conducted a second batch of training to ten officers of the National Traffic Department (NTD) of Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) last week.

The training commenced on 12 December and concluded on 16 December 2022 with presentation of certificates and outstanding participants’ certificates.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr. Ian Vaevaso during his visit during the training expressed his deep gratitude to Commissioner Zhang Guangbao and his team.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) commended the people of Western and Choiseul Province for their good behaviour shown during the Provincial election to the counting of ballots and to the declaration of results for both provinces.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “I would like to thank the people of Western and Choiseul Province for the great behaviour shown during and after the provincial election.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force has officially launched its Crime Prevention Strategy (CPS) 2023-2027 today (16 December 2022) at Police Headquarters.

The Strategy launch provides an effective strategy that is focused on why police are here, what police do and how police execute their duties to provide a safe, secure and peaceful Solomon Islands in the next four years.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki, Malaita Province has confirmed that the suspicious death of a young man found beneath Fiu Bridge in Central Kwara’ae now become a murder case.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Leslie Kili says, “This confirmation came after police have arrested a male suspect from the 11 suspects identified earlier.”

PPC Kili says, “From that 11 suspects identified by the police for questioning, an-18-year-old male person become a prime suspect in relation to the murder incident.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department are investigating a traffic incident involving a police officer who drives a police vehicle without a driving license.

Director National Traffic Department, Superintendent William Foufaka says, “Investigation reveals that the officer has no driving license during the course of the investigation after a traffic accident at town council area.”
