Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi in Central Province have arrested a 45-year-old male suspect for the allegation of rape of a 7-year-old girl recently.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai said the rape incident has happened at Tulagi between a Church area and victim’s residence.

Superintendent Soakai said the sad reality of this incident is that the suspect and the victim are related to each other.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) appeals to the good people of Western and Choiseul Province for a peaceful election tomorrow 14 December 2022.

The provincial election has become necessary after the dissolution of both Provincial Assemblies in June this year 2022.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is appealing to taxi drivers to report traffic police officers who demand a fine on the spot to report it to the Professional Standard Internal Investigation (PSII) of RSIPF.

Supervising Director PSII, Inspector Lawrence Iko said this appeal came after a taxi driver went to the media instead of reporting the matter to the PSII over the weekend.

New Zealand (NZ) Police attached to the Solomon Islands Police Support Programme have developed a 5 Step Mindset training programme for the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF).

New Zealand Police working alongside National Crime Prevention Department staff and Learning and Development staff from the RSIPF have developed the training to assist the RSIPF to be the best that they can be – every day.

Last week NZ Police staff and RSIPF travelled to Choiseul Province to deliver this valuable training to the RSIPF staff in Taro.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) thank members of the general public and sport fans for good behaviour shown during the Solomon Cup held in Honiara during the game.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “This was a big event involving RSIPF officers providing security during the game. I would like to thank members of the general public for the good behaviour shown during the duration of the whole tournament.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki in Malaita Province have identified 11 suspects in relation to the suspicious death of a male person found under Fiu Bridge on 6 December 2022 in Central Kwara’ae.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “It is confirmed that the dead body is of a male adult person in his 30s or 40s that police retrieve his body in the morning on 6 December 2022.”
Commissioner Mangau says, “Police believed that it was a suspicious death because the deceased had swelled on his face and at the back of his head.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are involved in multiple police operations during this festive season.

One of the operation police have been involved in is the ‘Operation Parliament’ with the support from Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF), which commences on 5 December 2022.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) appeals to all members of the public throughout the country who are planning to travel by boat and outboard motor (OBM) to be aware of sea safety measures as people travel to their home Islands to celebrate Christmas and New Year 2022.

The vessels and OBMs carrying passengers have to meet all safety requirements before leaving port.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki Police Station in Malaita Province have attended a two days training conducted by the officers of the National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) and officers of the Solomon Islands Police Support Program (SIPSP) on change of mind set for police officers last week in Malaita Province.

There are a total of 16 Auki police officers participating and were issued with certificates at the end of the two days training.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki in Malaita Province have removed a dead body found underneath Fiu Bridge in Central Kwara’ae this morning (6 December 2022).

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Leslie Kili says, “It is confirmed that the dead body is of male adult person in his 30s or 40s.”

Superintendent Kili says, “Police believed that it was a suspicious death because the deceased had swelled on his face and at the back of his head.”
