Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Yandina have arrested 12 suspects for roadblock on 14 November 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai said a group of men from Alocan village set up roadblocks at a logging camp and armed with Knives, Spares and axes.

PPC Soakai said they entered the camp site, threatened them to stop their operation, and demanded the company for SBD $500,000.00 cash.

Officers from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF)’s Fire and Rescue Services have completed ‘Natural Disaster First Responder’ training in Honiara last week.

Ten officers were awarded certificates for completing the training on Friday 11 November 2022.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP), through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), supported the delivery of the training.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) partnership program, RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), has rolled out its Youth & Community Engagement Program (YCEP) starting in Honiara.

Under this program, RAPPP members visited schools and communities to engage with students and youths to identify current and emerging issues affecting them. AFP officers serving under the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) supported these visits.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara have commenced three weeks training of Basic Investigation Course Level (BICL) 2, on Monday 14 November 2022 at the Rove Police Headquarters.

The 20 participants selected have already completed the BICL 1 and are from the Criminal Investigation Department from Honiara City which include White River, Central Police and Naha and in Guadalcanal Province, Henderson and Tetere and Central Province.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) have recently coordinated mindset training and awareness talks during their tour to the Western Province recently.

Director NCPD Superintendent John Matamaru says, “The Provincial visits are purposely to roll out mindset training for RSIPF officers in stations throughout the province.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki have arrested two male persons for making kwaso (homebrew) at Siwai village on 13 November 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Leslie Kili says, “The arrest has been done after police received information from the community about the homebrew.”

PPC Kili says, “Police raid the residence and arrest the two suspects and collect all the cooking utensils for homebrew making. Street values of all items about SBD $5,000.00 if sold.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) rebutted an article published in Solomon Star newspaper this week with the title “Police expose the rorts within” as totally misleading and nonsense.

The RSIPF Executive members travelling with the RSIPF trainees to China was part of the initial plan and consensus made by the Commissioner of RSIPF and the People's Republic of China, Ministry of Public Security.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has farewelled a longest serving police officer after serving the police for thirty eight years last night (11 November 2022) in Honiara.

A farewell dinner was hosted for the outgoing Assistant Commissioner (AC) Corporate Support (CS) Mr. Ian Bara with the presence of the Minister of Police, National Security and Correction Services (MPNSC).

Members of the police partners program, Staff from the MPNSCS and RSIPF Executive were also invited to the farewell dinner.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit has graduated two Nauru Police officers on International Mine Action Standard (IMAS) level one.

The graduation happened today (11 November 2022) after four weeks of intensive training at Hells Point. The Australian Defence Force (ADF) Advisors, Australian Federal Police (AFP) Advisor, a staff from the Australian High Commission office and RSIPF-EOD specialists’ present and witness the graduation.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki, Malaita Province have charged a 24-year-old male person for grievous harm in Auki on Monday 7 November 2022.

It is alleged that before the incident occurred, the victim destroyed the suspect’s market stall with a piece of iron and then left. However, he later returned with a bush knife which was removed from him.
