The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) wishes to advise the general public especially in Honiara that its “business as usual” this week as the parliament meeting convenes tomorrow (7 November 2022).

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “We do not anticipate any problems and would like to encourage businesses, schools, clinics and other essential services to continue as normal. Be assured that the RSIPF is monitoring the situation and should anything arise, your police are ready to deal with it.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has received 22 vehicles and 30 Motorcycles from China during a handing over ceremony today (4 November 2022) at Rove Police Headquarter.

The guests of Honour, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, other Ministers of the Crown and some permanent secretaries also attended and witnessed the program.

The new vehicles donated by China and Australia to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will not have any issues with parts and fuel.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “Those donated vehicles and motorcycles have parts with them currently. Police will look into the budget after a year to manage those vehicles with parts.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “RSIPF will meet the fuel for those replaced vehicles. Fuel for those new vehicles will not affect the police budget for its operations.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tetere and Henderson Police are investigating an alleged wounding incident at Kolona Village close to the GPPOL III area.

The alleged incident occurred on the 31st October 2022 between two brothers. The suspect allegedly believed that his brother had used witchcraft in an incident related to his wife previously.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “As a result of alleged sorcery, his small brother attacked his elder brother with a bush knife and completely chopped off his right hand.”

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have received 13 vehicles and 60 short barrel rifles from Australia during a handing over ceremony today (2 November 2022) at Rove Police Headquarters.

The handing over ceremony was attended by the Honourable Prime Minister Manasseh, Minister of Police National Security and Correctional Service (MPNSCS) Honourable Anthony Veke and the Permanent Secretary of MPSNSC Karen Galokale.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has delivered specialist training and donated vehicles and weapons with a combined investment of over AUD $1.3 million to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), which is continuing to strengthen its operational capability in the lead up to and beyond the Pacific Games 2023.

In a gifting ceremony held in Honiara today (2 November, 2022), the AFP, through the RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), handed over 13 vehicles and 60 Daniels Defense MK18 rifles.

The National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating an arson incident at Malaita Outer Island (MOI).

The investigation was established after a semi-permanent house belonging to the Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Sikaiana ward 33 burnt down to ashes on 16 October 2022.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested three suspects for common assault at Solomon Water area next to Tuvaruhu, while on the ground a group of boys threw rocks at officers and police vehicles.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr Simpson Pogeava says, “During the night on Saturday 29 October 2022, Honiara city support team attended a report of a common assault at Solomon Water area next to Tuvaruhu settlement.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) thank the members of the general public and sport fans for good behaviour shown during the boxing fight between Solomon Islands (SI) and Papua New Guinea (PNG) last week (26 and 27 October 2022).

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Simpson Pogeava says, “This was a successful event where police deployed a good number of officers to provide high visibility during the game.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team has graduated six officers for completing level two of International Mine Action Standard (IMAS) on 28 October 2022 at Hell’s Point, East Honiara.

Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operations Russel Tagini says, “After so many years now passed since World War II. In the End we were contaminated with a good number of UXOs left behind on the surface, some shallow lay beneath, some under rocks, swamp, only to name a few.”
