The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) appeals to members of the public throughout the country to think safety first and take precautionary measures during this period of bad weather that is being experienced throughout the country.

Supervising Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian VAEVASO says, “Boats and vessel owners are urged to think safety first before embarking on any trip at sea during the current bad weather. Check the weather by listening to the SIBC and other radio stations or call the Met Services and get the right advice before travelling at sea.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) continues to monitor the situation leading up to the motion of no confidence against the Honorable Premier of Malaita Provincial Government, which will occur on 7 February 2023.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Mr Leonard Tahimana says, “Police are monitoring the situation leading up to the motion of no confidence and will focus on the security to ensure the motion runs peacefully.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata police station in Temotu Province are investigating an attempted murder incident at Luebava Village Santa Cruz Island in Temotu Province on 21 January 2023.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “It is alleged that two brothers were drinking alcohol when an argument broke out between them. The brothers had some differences in the past that led to their argument where the elder brother become a victim after his younger brother used a 26 inch bush knife to cut his hand and abdomen.”

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force(RSIPF) officers at Auki Police Station in Malaita Province have arrested a male suspect (20yrs in age) whom allegedly raped a 15 years old female at MEAI Village Buma West Kwaio in Malaita Province on the 31 January 2023.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “It was alleged that the 15 years old female victim was playing card game called pass at her uncle’s house at 2am on 31 January 2023.”
