The China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) is conducting Public Order Management (POM) training for the officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Isabel Province.

The training was conducted at Buala, the capital of Isabel Province with the official opening ceremony on 12 October 2022. The two weeks training program involved 22 officers of the RSIPF in Isabel.

Deputy Team Leader, China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) Ji Yong and Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Mr. Leonard Tahnimana pay a courtesy visit to Isabel Province Premier Rhoda Sikilabu on 13 October 2022.

During the visit, Premier Sikilabu extended a warm welcome to the CPLT to Buala and thanked the Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC) police for providing the training to the officers in Isabel Province.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating a dead incident at liwe camp in South Malaita.

Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Mr Leonard Tahnimana said the Auki police investigation team has attended to a logging accident which involved a 47-year-old male deceased who works for Jubilant Company as a chain saw operator.

The visit is part of the community engagement with the community stipulated under the Crime Prevention Strategy of the RSIPF.

Two Australian Federal Police (AFP) Protective Services Officers (PSO) who are part of the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) joined the Solomon Islands rugby family by taking part in the Women in Rugby Month Festival (WIRMF) at the Town Ground Stadium recently.

WIRMF is an annual initiative celebrated by all 17 Member Unions in Oceania Rugby. The Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) organised the event in Honiara that brings women rugby players and supporters to share and listen to stories from women in rugby and to engage in fun games.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department have arrested a 38-year-old male suspect in relation to a fatal accident at Kukum highway road opposite St. Barnabas Cathedral.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau said the accident occurred on 11 October 2022 around 7pm in the evening which involved a White Toyota Hiace public bus. The bus was travelling in a westerly direction when accidently hit a woman in her 60’s.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo Police Station have arrested a 40-year-old father for raping his own 15-year-old biological daughter in Western Province.

The 40-year-old father was arrested after he raped his own daughter in two different times at their home.

First incident happened between an unknown date from 1 July 2021 and 31 December 2021 and second incident occurred on 7 October 2022.

Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said, it was alleged that the suspect molesting his daughter’s private part during the two occasions.

The Serious Crime Team of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested a 22-year-old for the allegation of murder of a 43-year-old male person yesterday (11 October 2022).

Initial report stated that on 23 September 2022 at around 10pm at Rove Seafront pub, the deceased was standing with his friend and then walked towards the entrance of Rove Seafront pub. This was when the deceased was attacked and fell on the ground.

Construction work to replace Kukum Police Station commenced yesterday (12 October 2022) during a ground-breaking ceremony.

The new building will be situated on the site of the existing Kukum Police Station which was ransacked and burned during riots across Honiara in November 2021.
