China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) and Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) conducted a Joint Mock Exercise of Digital Very High Frequency (VHF) VHF Communication System.

A total of 22 RSIPF officers from Communication Centre, Central Police Station, Guadalcanal Police Station, Police Response Team (PRT), Close Personal Protection (CPP), and Traffic Department with CPLT members and two Chinese engineers successfully completed the mock exercise.

A delegation consisting of 32 officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mr. Ian Vaevaso and Assistant Commissioner (AC) Evelyn Thugea left for China for a month's training.

Most of the officers from the National Response Department of the RSIPF left the country on 8 October 2022 for a seminar on police techniques.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek area East of Honiara on Wednesday 12 October 2022.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal will be active as from 8am to 2pm (12 October 2022).”

China police, through the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) and the engineers, conducted a Digital Mobile Communication System training for officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF).

A total of 39 RSIPF officers participated in the training.

The training is divided into three groups. All of them commenced the one-week training at the Rove Police Headquarters started on Monday 3 October 2022.

Participants of the training came from the Communication Department, Central Police Station, Guadalcanal Police Station and most Departments of the RSIPF.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP), who are part of the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF), recently visited the new international terminal at Honiara International Airport.

The new terminal, which is nearing completion, is situated on the Western end of the current international terminal. The facility is part of the country’s preparations for the Pacific Games in 2023. Kitano Construction Company employees on the site led RSIPF and AFP officers for the tour around the facility.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Tulagi have arrested a 56 year old male suspect for the gruesome murder incident at smoking area in Tulagi, on 26 September 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Island Province (CIP) Superintendent Soakai said the suspect is resides in Tulagi at smoking area with his close relative.

The National Traffic Department (NTD) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have completed a one week training provided by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).

The training commenced on the 26 September 2022 and concluded on 30 September 2022 with presentation of certificates. Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention Mr Simpson Pogeava, Director of NTD William Foufaka, Team Leader of CPLT Commissioner Zhang and his deputy Ji attended the close ceremony and issued the certificates.

Taro Police and other Solomon Island Government (SIG) Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA’s) are investigating five Bougainvillians who brought in 21 bags of sea cucumber (bêche-de-mer) last week illegally into the country.

This has happened after Taro police received a call from members of the public that five Bougainvillians were in Taro with bags of bêche-de-mer.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria said we received the information and disseminated it to other LEA’s to focus on their tasks.

The Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS), Hon. Anthony Veke today (3 October 2022) opened the one-week conference of the Provincial Police Commanders and departmental directors of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

The Conference is being attended by all Provincial Police Commanders from all the provinces and Honiara City, and departmental directors from the RSIPF Headquarters in Rove. The PPCs and Directors conference will close on 7 October 2022.
