The Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Central Islands Province (CIP), Superintendent David Soakai said Public Order Management (POM) training conducted is a big boost to open development in CIP.
Superintendent Soakai in his welcome remarks at the POM Training closing says, “China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) this is a milestone for my officers which you have developed for my officers to reach a standard to deal with security in the province. This will give confidence to the people of CIP.”

Deputy Team Leader, China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) Ji Yong says during the Public Order Management (POM) Training you overcame all the difficulties, passed all assessments and met the training requirements which fully reflected the spirit of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF).

Deputy Team Leader Ji Yong says, “I felt the passion and enthusiasm shown by the police officers. Everyone is hardworking and disciplined. Overcome many difficulties including the high temperature, physical tiredness, and domestic difficulties.

A total of 33 officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police (RSIPF) have completed Public Order Management (POM) Training in Central Islands Province last week.

The training is part of capacity development of the RSIPF which is conducted by the China Liaison Team (CPLT). The training commenced on 6 September 2022 and completed on 16 September 2022. Officers from Yandina and Tualgi are attending the training.

Seven drunken youths from west Kwaio erected roadblock at Bira Bridge and demanded money from transport providers on 10 September 2022.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr Ian Vaevaso says, “This has happened to my two officers who were part of an awareness team from the Electoral Commission Office carrying out awareness and pinning of notices at ward 26 and 27 in west Kwaio purposely for the bye-election.”

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) removed 294 kg Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) at Taro airstrip in Choiseul Province on 12 September 2022.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr Ian Vaevaso said the UXO is from the United States (US) used during World War II in the Solomon Islands during the war.

DC Vaevaso said the other small bomb also removed from the same location which total up to two UXOs. EOD Team are working close with the provincial government for the render safe of those bombs.

A total of 50 women including children were taught martial art training during a Public Order Management (POM) training in Tulagi, Central Islands Province (CIP) for the officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF).

The China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) conducts the martial art training for local women in the afternoon after RSIPF Official program finishes on each day.

CPLT spent an hour and thirty minutes after its sessions on POM with RSIPF and engaged with the local women and children on self-defence martial arts.

The China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) visited some officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) families in Central Province who encountered some difficulties.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai said the purpose of the visit is to support families in need of assistance.

PPC Soakai said the difficult police families included a single mother raising four children as well as a wife who is having little health issues.

Senior Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) visited the construction site at Mongga Bridge in east Central Guadalcanal on 10 September 2022.

During the visit Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention Mr. Simpson Pogeava paid a field visit to the construction site while the visiting group surveyed the surroundings of the construction site and enhanced the security for the infrastructure project.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Kirakira Police Station have arrested a 30-year-old male suspect for alleged murder of his own brother.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira-Ulawa Province, Superintendent Peter Sitai said the murder incident has occurred on the month of July 2022 at Arohane Village in Central Makira and police arrested the suspect on 6 September 2022.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) the Solomon International Assistance Force (SIAF) are continuing with operation providing security to the people of Solomon Islands whilst the businesses are operating in “business as usual” during this parliament sitting.

“With the high visibility operation underway by Police in and around Honiara we want to remind the public that business as usual during the 11th parliament meeting,” says the RSIPF Commissioner Mr Mostyn Mangau.
