The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is aware of the application to the Parliament for the Motion of No Confidence hence is reminding Honiara Residents and our good people of Solomon Islands to stay calm and respect the principles of democracy.

As per the normal processes and procedure of Parliament, the Motion of No Confidence submission will come before parliament deliberation after clear seven days from the date it was submitted.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Community Policing Team at Kirakira Police Station conducted awareness talks on Crime Prevention Strategy at Waita and Mwaniwaro communities in West and Central Makira, Makira-Ulawa Province, recently.

Under the crime prevention strategy initiative, awareness talks covering topics like Kwaso, domestic violence, marijuana and alcohol abuse were covered in presentations.

Makira’s Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Superintendent Peter Sitai, said Kirakira police and communities agreed to have these talks.

The School Cyber Awareness Program that has been delivered to over 10,000 students, teachers and interested groups has imparted vital online safety information to those who receive it.

The program is a result of collaboration between the National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), the Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) of the Ministry of Communication and Aviation (MCA) and the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

The NCPD, CERT and RAPPP has a shared goal of enhancing online safety for children.

Tualgi police have arrested a 50-year-old mother and his 32-year-old son for damaging community water tap supply at Hagalu village in big Ngella, Central Province, on November 19, 2024.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Island Province, Superintendent David Soakai, said it was alleged that the mother helped his own son to do the damage to the community water tap.

PPC Soakai said the 32-year-old son uses a half-iron rod and weeps the tap water. He then pulls out the water tap stand, and he damages the pipe that supplies water from the main tank.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and members of the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) have had a wonderful time with children during the event to mark this year’s International Children’s Day last month.

The event highlights the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and improving their welfare. The theme of the event was “Every pikinini garem sem rait”.

In the lead up to the event, RSIPF officers and a RAPPP advisor help the event’s organizing committee with technical and advisory support.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Kirakira Police Station have witnessed the launching of the Kakaoraana community (Ward 9) by-law in Central Bauro, Makira Ulawa Province, on November 20, 2024.

This event was successfully implemented through the continuous effort and support from the Crime Prevention Unit at Kirakira Police Station and the positive response from the community.

Taro police have arrested six male suspects for illegally brewing of alcohol (homebrew) at Soneke village in South Choiseul on November 17, 2024.

The arrests have been done after people from Banganoe village reported the ongoing activity of illegally brewing of alcohol in their community.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Inspector Ronald Chite, said the suspects were mostly youths, ages ranging from 19 to 27 years old.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has farewelled China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) Team 5 at Rove police headquarters.

The farewell ceremony has occurred on November 13, 2024, with a presentation of the Police Commissioners Commendation. CPLT Team 5 officers farewelled and left the country on November 14, 2024.

RSIPF Commissioner, Mr. Mostyn Mangau, in his brief remarks during the farewell ceremony, acknowledged the CPLT for the great support rendered to RSIPF in capacity building.

Police officers at Gizo are gearing up for the Western province's second appointed day and the festive season.

Police officers conducted a joint operation with the Correctional Service of the Solomon Islands (CSSI) over the weekend as part of the preparation for the two events.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province (WP), Superintendent Wilken Miriki, says, “We have started the police operations last weekend targeting nightclubs, black markets, and crime hotspots, and we are pleased with the overall behaviour of the people of Gizo for a peaceful weekend.”

The Gizo community policing team, along with Social Welfare and Save the Children staff, have visited two communities and conducted awareness talks on separate days in recognition of Children's International Day.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Superintendent Wilken Miriki, said the first visit was made to Kinamara community at Kohingo Island.
