New Zealand Police attached to the Solomon Islands Police Support Programme (SIPSP) have developed a 5 Step Mindset training programme for the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF).

New Zealand Police working alongside National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) staff and Learning and Development staff from the RSIPF have developed the programme to assist the RSIPF to be the best that they can be – every day.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers at Kirakira in Makira-Ulawa Province continue to roll out a Crime Prevention Strategy to the communities in Makira Province on 30 June 2022.

The RSIPF community policing team in Kirakira conducted training for Nukukaisi Crime Prevention Committee (CPC) members on SARA model aimed at getting everyone to understand its importance.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki have arrested ten suspects during an operation over the weekend.

The high visibility operations during the weekend targeted Kwaso (homebrew) illegal sales, consumption of alcohol and consuming liquor in public places.

During the operation police have conducted patrols and foot beats around Auki town covering communities nearby the Auki township area.

The Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Mr Mostyn Mangau has made a first provincial visit to Central Province after lifting the State of Public Emergency recently.

The Commissioner made the visit to officers who work at Tulagi and Yandina Police Station in the Russell Islands on 8 July 2022.

During the visit, Commissioner Mangau presented a certificate of appreciation to some officers at Tulagi during a parade and conducted a muster with officers.

The Chairman Banika House of Chief Mr John Tenten told the Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Mr Mostyn Mangau that Yandina Police are unable to discharge their duties due to no vehicle.

The Chair of Banika House of Chief highlighted the matter during a day trip by the Commissioner of RSIPF to Yandina on 8 July 2022.

Mr Tenten said, in terms of sea mobility it is okay. Our police officers still do their duties by boat to other parts of Russell Islands but land mobility is becoming a concern for Yandina officers to do their work.

Our country owes you all with deep gratitude… a strong statement uttered by the Hon Minister of the Ministry of National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS) Mr Anthony Veke during a 44th Independence Day celebration at the Rove Police Club this morning (7 July 2022).

During the program Hon Veke says, “The past years have not been easy, we have faced a lot of challenges which tested the capability of both agencies. The COVI-19 pandemic has in-deep stressed our efforts, planning, our finances, our human resources and our ethics.”

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and his Cabinet Ministers witnessed the Police Response Team (PRT) under the National Response Department (NRD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) displaying the Public Order Management (POM) Interoperability Response Capability Demonstration Exercise at the Tenaru Firing Range this morning Tuesday 5 July 2022.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek area East of Honiara on Wednesday 06 July 2022.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal will be active from 8am to 2pm (06 July 2022).”

Officers of the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) and Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) undertook a joint foot patrol at the Koa Hill community in Honiara recently.

Joining the patrol were officers of the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the Australian Defence Force (ADF), New Zealand Police (NZP), New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) and Republic of Fiji Military Force (RFMF) under SIAF and that of the RSIPF’s Central and National Crime Prevention Department.

Atori Police Station of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) needs more police officers to support the Atoifi outpost in east Kwaio.

This was revealed during the latest visit of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ms Juanita Matanga to Malaita Province last week.

Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Atori Police Station, Inspector Peter Kinita said we need more human resources to work here at Atori. The area we manage in terms of policing is too big and we also support the Atoifi outpost when they need us.
