Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara today (4 July 2022) farewelled their colleague officer the late Police Sergeant (Sgt) Trevor Leo during a Sending out Service at the Vura Parish Anglican Church after he passed away in Western Province on 28 June 2022.

Speaking at the Sending out Service RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “I am humbled to stand here on behalf of all Ranks and files of the RSIPF throughout Solomon Islands.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara have completed the first Middle Management Course (MMC) for this year on 1 July 2022.

Participants of this course were selected from the Police Stations under the Honiara City Police and National Traffic Department.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operation of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) encouraged officers under her portfolio to stay ‘fit, healthy and active’ during a route march that was conducted this morning on 2 July 2022.

RSIPF officers from the National Response Department, Police Maritime Department, Police Band, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD), Close Protection Unit, Fire and Rescue Service and the Police Response Team (PRT).

The recent visit of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Ms Juanita Matanga to Maka Police Station is an assurance to the community that the police station will be built very soon.

DC Matanga said though the station is down but let me assure the communities served under Maka Police Station that construction will happen soon and I ask you to be patient.

Chief Joseph Wakageni of Ale’a tribe in east Kwaio said police presence in Atoifi has reduced the crime rate in the past years.

Chief Wakageni said this during a high level police delegation visit to Atoifi Police Post on 29 June 2022.

Chief Wakageni said the availability of Police Post and police officers who served at Atoifi has a greater impact on the lives of our youths.

He said it reduces crime rate for the past years and it has indicated that officers at Atoifi are doing their job to deal with lawless people.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) National Response Department (NRD) officers with the Emergency Response Group (ERG) of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) together with the China Police liaison Team (CPLT) perform a successful demonstration at the Rove Police Headquarters today (1 July 2022).

The demonstration was jointly organized by the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS) and the Ministry of Public Security of People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit has graduated 12 officers after completing level 2 of the International Mine Action Standard (IMAS) course requirements as specialist operators today (29 June 2022) at the EOD facility, East of Honiara.

This is another important stage in the development of our next generation of EOD operators, which will always be a role that is needed in the Solomon Islands.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations of the Royal Solomon Island Police Ms Juanita Matanga have visited Maluu Police Station as part of her provincial tour in Malaita Province to give moral support to frontline police officers.

DC Matanga who accompanied by the Malaita Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Leslie Kili had a muster with the police officers at Malu’u police station to discuss different policing issues.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operation Ms Juanita Matanga as part of her provincial tour to Malaita Province has made a courtesy visit to the Honourable Premier of Malaita Province Mr Daniel Suidani today 27 June 2022.

DC Matanga said the courtesy visit to the Office of the Honourable Premier is part of recognising that as a political head of Malaita Provincial government, it is important to accord that respect before we actually do the visit to other police stations and outposts in the province in the coming days.
