Close Personal Protection (CPP) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) group two started their training program provided by instructors from China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) at Rove Police Headquarter.

Official opening of the second group was held at Rove Police Headquarters yesterday (23 May 2022). This training will last for two weeks and all the 16 officers from CPP Unit and Police Band will receive CPP related training.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force at Henderson Police Station have arrested and charged a male person in his 30’s for the alleged murder of another male person at Peochakuri village in South Guadalcanal on 6 May 2022.

It is alleged that the accused and the deceased had an argument prior to the incident. The accused allegedly struck a hammer on the victim’s head and continue to punch the victim whilst the victim is on the ground. The victim sustained serious injuries.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has already improved its capacity and capability over the last five months that clearly promoted community safety and security, a statement uttered during the closing ceremony of the Close Personal Protection (CPP) group one at Rove Police Headquarter by Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr Ian Vaevaso.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team have conducted an unexploded ordnance (UXO) operation in the Western Province from 17 May and will end on 4 June 2022.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of the RSIPF EOD team, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The tasks will be carried out in Seghe area and surrounding communities.

Inspector Tunuki says, “Essentially, this operation is in support to the initial sub surface UXO clearance of the Seghe Airport.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tetere and Henderson Police Station are investigating a murder incident that has happened at Bulokalai village in Aola area, East Central Guadalcanal on 10 May 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Edwin Sevoa said suspects have been identified in relation to the murder incident and police officer working close with community leaders for their arrest.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Naha Police Station now have better working conditions to perform their duties following the completion and handing over of the refurbished Police Station in East Honiara today(17 May 2022).

Thanks to the Australian Government under the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) for funding Naha Police Station, refurbishing the project after it was partly burnt down by the looters and rioters during the November riot in Honiara in November 2021.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Solomon Islands Financial Intelligence Unit (SIFIU) and Solomon Islands Immigration Division.
The purpose of the MoU is to set out the framework between RSIPF, SIFIU and Immigration Division in relation to cooperation for information exchange and enforcement of Solomon Islands legislation and regulation pertaining to transnational crime.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Western border between Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Solomon Islands (SI) have arrested a 64 years old male person from Sirovai village, Koromira in Central Bougainville for breaching the State of Public Emergency (SoPE) that has been enforced.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro Police Station in Choiseul Province are investigating an alleged unlawful damage of Government property at Wagina village. The unlawful damage incident occurred on 8 May 2020.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province Superintendent Vincent Eria explains, “An initial report into the incident alleged that a male person from Araiki village went to the new police post and damaged the main door of the Wagina Police Station.”
