RSIPF NGE 2019 awareness

AC Pogeava adressing the congregation

The National Crime Prevention Department of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) continues with its National General Election (NGE) community engagement visits when officers visited the Wesley United Church in Honiara on 17 February 2019.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Crime Prevention and National Capital, Simpson Pogeava says, “Today we are here to share with you information concerning the National General Election including the responsibility of voters and the general public, the responsibilities of the RSIPF and the offences and penalties under the Electoral Act.”

“The RSIPF is prepared to work closely with you in our communities as we are moving towards the NGE. And I call on the church leaders and members of the congregation to work with us. You can assist us by providing us information.”

“Your Police cannot do it alone but together we can. Let us work together for a fair, safe and peaceful NGE.”

The community engagement will continue at communities in and around Honiara this week including meetings at various churches in the capital. This includes a meeting at the Kukum SDA Church on 23 February 2019 and meetings at the Holy Cross Cathedral, the Central South Sea’s Evangelical (SSEC) Church, Bishop’s Dale Anglican Church at Riffle Range, St Francis Anglican Church at White River, the Anglican Vura Parish, and Norman Palmer Anglican Church at Gilbert Camp in east Honiara on 24 February 2019.
