PPCs and Directors attend NEMSEP presentation
Provincial Police Commanders (PPC) and departmental directors in the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have been briefed by the Force’s National Emergency Management Special Events Planning (NEMSEP) Department on preparations for the National General Election (NGE) to be held on 3 April 2019.
Deputy Director of NEMSEP, Senior Sergeant (SSgt) Francis Ramoni says, “The presentation this morning (19 February) is aimed at making you aware as PPCs and directors of the template my office is using to draft operation orders for special events, including the coming NGE.”
He explains: “The reason to show the template is to ensure we have a standard template for an operation order and more importantly what information is required in that order. Despite the fact that some provinces may have issues different from others the basic outline of an operation order should be the same.”
“This session is to help you edit your current operation orders submitted to the Office of the Assistant Commissioner for Provincial as well as what the departmental directors have submitted to their various Assistant Commissioners ,” says SSgt Ramoni.
He adds: “We expect that at the end of this week’s PPCs and Directors Conference we will have all the provincial operation orders as well as the departmental ones which will form the overall NGE operation order for a safe and free election.”
The presentation by NEMSEP was conducted in the Police Academy computer laboratory at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.
