Commissioner Varley explains, “Reinforcements including two Provincial Response Unit (PRU) officers from Guadalcanal Province and two officers from the Fire and Rescue Service have been sent from Honiara to assist Police at the Tigoa Police Station on West Rennell.”
He adds:
“The role of the police in such matters is to ensure that law and order is maintained and those Government authorities and other interested stakeholders are allowed to do the work that is required of them to deal with the issue at hand.”
Commissioner Varley says, “I would like to call on people in and around the Lavangu area of West Rennell to work together with the authorities to deal with the matter.”
