Police investigate attack on a woman in the Guadalcanal Plains

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating the alleged attack on a 30-year-old woman in the Nguvia area on the Guadalcanal Plains on 3 April 2019.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Guadalcanal Provincial, Chief Superintendent Evelyn Thugea says, “My officers are investigating the alleged attack which happened on 3 April 2019 at the Nguvia area in North Guadalcanal.”

PPC Thugea adds: “A case is being registered for this report for police investigation.”

She says, “I warn people in Guadalcanal Province to refrain from intimidating another person as it is against the law. We should respect and treat each with dignity despite our gender.”

“I appeal to members of the public in the Nguvia area in North Guadalcanal to provide information about the alleged incident to officers at the Henderson Police Station onto phone 36200,” says PPC Thugea.
