RSIPF arrest man in Malaita Province for allegedly attacking foreign national

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested a man in Malaita Province for allegedly attacking a 45-year-old Asian national on 22 April 2019.

It is alleged the Asian man received a knife wound on his back after being attacked by the man Fote logging camp, West Kwara’e in Malaita Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Solomon Sisimia says, “The alleged suspect in the attack was arrested yesterday (22 April) and he was charged with one count of unlawful wounding, and released on bail to appear before the Auki Magistrates Court at a later date.”

“I appeal to the good people of Malaita Province to have respect for each other so that we all live in peace and harmony within our communities.”

Police investigation into the matter is continuing.
