RSIPF arrests five suspects for alleged robbery in Guadalcanal Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Guadalcanal Province have arrested five suspects on 30 April 2019 for allegedly involved in a robbery report at GPPOl-2 in the Guadalcanal Plains.
Commander of the Police Forward Command Post at Henderson Police Station, Superintendent Nixson Manetoga says, “My officers at Tetere Police Station responded to a report yesterday and overnight which alleged six men armed with bush knives robbed a foreign business man operating in the GPPOL-2 area of North East Guadalcanal.”
He adds: “So far Police have arrested five of the suspects as a result of a combined effort with communities in North East and North Guadalcanal during which around $5,000.00 including some valuable items were recovered.”
“I would like to thank members of the communities in the area who supported police and also my officers for a job well done,” says Superintendent Manetoga.
He adds: “Two of the suspects are allegedly linked to the robbery report at the Nature Bakery in Ranadi, East Honiara over the weekend.”
“I appeal to communities in North East Guadalcanal to work together with your police and provide any information that will assist the investigations into the alleged robbery and the whereabouts of the one other suspect who is still at large,” says Superintendent Manetoga.
