During the visits officers of NCPD reassured the communities and schools in Honiara and parts of Guadalcanal that the situation after the election of Prime Minister is now back to normal and the public should continue business as normal.

Director of the NCPD, Inspector Chris Laekalia says “The situation is now back to normal and I encourage people residing in Honiara and business houses to continue with normal business.”

Inspector Laekalia explains: “The communities visited were in the areas including Lungga, Sun Valley, Henderson, Alligator Creek, Burns Creek-KGVI Market, Betikama, Ranadi, Vura, Kobito-Naha, Border Line Market, Gilbert Camp, Kola Ridge and the White River-Karaina Market.”

“My officers also visited schools in East Honiara reassuring Principles of the schools that the security situation in the City is back to normal and that they should assist by making their students aware of the need not to be involved in any criminal activities.”

“There was positive feedback from the communities and schools visited to the presence of police and awareness programs making them understand the process for the election of the Prime Minister and accept the outcome of the vote,” says Inspector Laekalia.
