Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata in Temotu Province, have arrested a man in his late 30s at the Bimbir area, Santa Cruz Island this week for allegedly destroying peoples’ properties and threatening.

Temotu Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent James Toaki says, “My officers made the arrest after we received reports from t members of the public that a man was going around allegedly destroying people’s gardens, threatening others and taking whatever he wants.”

“The successful arrest was made through the help of members of the community at Bimbir and Nyibanga Noi respectively,” says PPC Toaki

He adds: “The suspect was a former inmate at the Lata Correctional Service Centre. He has been remanded in police custody awaiting further investigation. Multiple charges would likely be laid against him.”

“I would like to commend members of the community for their rendered support to my officers, and at the same time thank my officers for the job well done in apprehending the suspect,” says PPC Toaki.

He warned those who want to break the law that police will not tolerate any unwanted activities and will bring to face justice those who commit crime.
