The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) wishes to advice the general public especially in Honiara that its “business as usual” this week as the first meeting of the 11th Parliament convenes tomorrow (15 May 2019) and the High Court continues with the hearing of the case between Hon. Matthew Wale and Hon. Manasseh Sogavare on 17 May 2019.

“We do not anticipate any problems and would like to encourage businesses, schools, clinics and other essential services to continue as normal. Be assured that the RSIPF is monitoring the situation and should anything arise, your police is ready to deal with it,” says Supervising Commissioner of Police, Gabriel Manelusi

He adds: “I call on the law abiding citizens of Solomon Islands to remain calm and go about their business and lives as usual. Let us allow the democratic institutions like the National Parliament and our Courts to perform their duties as mandated in the National Constitution.”

RSIPF urges members of the public to pass on any information about anyone planning to disturb the peace and rule of law in our country. You can contact your nearest police station or call the Police National Centre on phone 23666 or the toll free 999.
