RSIPF engages in soccer as part of community awareness in Western Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo in the Western Province played a friendly soccer match with a team from Saeraghi community on 21 May 2019 as part of the community engagement program.
Saeraghi scored two goals to one against Gizo police.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The program involved youth and members of the community.”
“It was a great opportunity for each members to participate in such an event and show their interest to interact with Police for a better relationship to fight crime in our communities,” says PPC Lenialu.
Chief Superintendent Lenialu explains: “Community members really appreciated police for reminding them about their roles and responsibilities to serve their communities and nation by putting hands together to prevent crime before it happens. Sport is one of the activities that will engage youth to avoid involvement in criminal activities.”
“I would like to thank those who participated in the program and making the effort to attend the activity. You are lucky to receive these powerful messages from police.”
“I must continue to remind you my good people of Western Province to work together and strengthen our relationship in order to make our communities free from crime and Gizo Police will be continue on with its community engagement programs,” says PPC Lenialu.
