The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Choiseul Province have arrested four people during the period 23 – 28 May 2019 following four cases being reported to police at the Taro Police Station.
RSIPF Provincial Police Commander (PPC) in Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria says, “Four people were arrested in Choiseul Province from a period 23 – 28 May 2019 following four cases being reported to Taro Police Station for attendance.
“Two of the accused were charged for assault causing actual bodily harm, while the other two were each charged for simple larceny and restriction on making liquor,” explains PPC Eria.
All the accused were released on bail to appear before the Taro Magistrates Court on 14 October 2019.
PPC Eria says, “My officers conducted six patrols to various communities in Choiseul Province during the period of 23 to 28 May that resulted in the arrests. Police also mediated one issue that resulted in reconciliation between the affected parties.”
“I would like to thank members of the communities in Choiseul for assisting my officers making our work easier. And I would also like to comment my officers for their hard work, which will bring community confidence in the RSIPF. This shows that the police is working together with the community for a safer and peaceful Choiseul Province,” says PPC Eria.
The PPC Choiseul Province urges more communities in that Province to work together with the RSIPF by reporting crime and assisting with information for police investigation.
